most of the (more reasonable) people on this forum, i think, would agree that bioware, and specifically the DA team, treat their fans very well, and communicate with us on a level above and beyond was is normal in the industry. the problem many of the people here have, which was exaserbated by yesterday's events, is that the marketing team is doing an (arguably) terrible job with this game, and is causing many people to fear for the quality of the game and/or feel disenfranchised by the company as a whole.

Bioware is awesome developer yes. I don't care for the demo much. What more would I expect? Some good marketing for their new game that is coming out next month. They have wasted their opportunity with 02.01.2011 which had a massive hype. Instead of launching a proper marketing campaign they announced something unrelated to DA2. And it was an announcment of a facebook game going from a beta stage to another beta stage. Hell of an anticlimax ...

I can't even follow what people are angry about in this thread anymore. It's just one big mass of hatred, trolling, circular arguments, repeated information, ignorance, disappointment, and nonsense.
I mean we did get a release date for the demo out of it.

Agreed - although I do think they have much more up their sleeve for Feb....it's only the 2nd day and I think they will release a lot more info still.

Still don't understand the 2.1.11 hype. How can any rational person think that that date was nothing more than the original targeted release date? We've known for a while that isn't the case.
Because even recently they said they had many special things planned for this day, and yet where I'm sitting still nothing changed for me on that day.

You ever miss a deadline or target date that you had set for something? Now, put yourself back there and imagine having a thousand people crying and moaning to you about it.

Instead of letting a thousand people cry for 3 days straight, they could have just said "Hey sorry guys our feb 01 plans didn't pan out. Nothing big will happen for today"

This. The lack of dev response over the past few days attributed to the whole chaos yesterday. In my opinion.

Bingo. If they knew nothing of note was going to happen, they needed to come out and say so instead of just letting this go on and on with no clarity.

Bioware can put on their own big boy pants ya know?*
Not that people shouldn't put down their opinions that support Bioware, I know I have previously, in this very thread even, but they don't need defending and it's fair to call them out when you feel they've messed up

If the thing is ready for one person to download on the 11th, then it is ok for everybody to download on the 11th. Keeping it from the fanbase so some jerks at Gamespot can see it.. I still have not gotten over this poor idea that this is a smart move. The people are the ones who buy the games. The people make up thier own decisions. Nobody gives a **** what the Gmaespot counter jerks say about a game. Mine store is all 16 year olds that are all flirting with each other behing the counter anyways. They dont market anything. They just give you dirty looks, ring you out, then go back to slacking off.
Stupid marketing is stupid

Well, as JohnElper wrote yesterday in this thread - That may be issue that they have a gag order for. We don't know and maybe they can't say. And I'm not pointing fingers at either of you, but I don't think acting like a bunch of melodramatic cry-babies, as Gaider aptly put it, is a very positive way to react.

That's what happens when you try to avoid the inevitable. Instead they could've told the truth, but no, they just had to make THAT announcement some stupid closed beta, trying to save their asses. I'm not angry or anything, it does not change my view on buying dragon age 2, however if you promise something "big" then keep your promise, don't offer some cheap alternative instead. Well At least we got some info on the so called "demo".Brockololly wrote...

Though again no dev confirmation about that I think, but we must understand that they are in no-obligation to tell us stuff.
