Yep. 2011/1/27 is when it went on sale. I also live in Japan so I might know, lol.

Let's stay on the demo topic to avoid a lockdown. Have there been any explicit statements that something will be revealed today, or is it all just pure speculations?

This demo better be real. If its not bioware is just ****ing with us they could have just said its fake and got it done with.

As a policy BioWare does not confirm or deny speculation on un-announced projects.
Any hype is self-induced.
No  ****ing involved.

Don't mislead Alodar, Bioware has shot down false rumors before hand.  Most recently the Fenris mage rumors.  They aren't obligated to do so by any means but don't state something as fact when it is not.

None except for the mysterious 1/1/11 image that came inside of copies of Awakenings.

TBH I don't think anything has been explicitly said.  Just hinted at by the images, twitter postings, by devs talking about learning lots of new info in Feb and Mike saying if he had his way we'd be hearing FemHawke's voice soon. Etc, etc.

Circumstantial evidence but nothing concrete.

Nothing so far, but it is early. We might get something later, maybe.

Last year when BioWare released Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening (the single expansion pack to Dragon Age: Origins) copies of the game shipped a flier teasing something Dragon Age-related for February 1, 2011. Most assumed it was the release date for Dragon Age 2 (which has since been revealed to be March 8 in the US and March 11 in the UK). BioWare has been insistent that the date is for a “surprise."

I think Bioware are a bunch of sadists that like to see us squirm. The whole 2/1/11 actually had no significance whatsoever they just put it in their for the lulz. XD

They are! Also, I couldn't remember where their offices are... so I just chalked it up to them being Candian >.>

Bioware is in Edmonton, Edmonton belongs to the mountain timezone. Mountain timezone is in affect in three countries in north america. They definitely aren't country specific.

The whole 2/1/11 is related to the original date of launch of the game.....then it was delayed...
The demo thing almost sure was an EA mistake.

No misleading.
Fenris wasn't an un-announced project.

Mike's commented on that a number of times saying that they have something planned for that date. So, yes there have been explicit statements that something is happening today, just none that mention a demo.

The only things going for the demo are the screwup and the fact that it hasn't been denounced. Though that only really implies that a demo is coming at some point... could have been leaked ridiculously early. :P

That's probably because EA doesn't have a japanese subdivision anymore. All japanese releases for games are moved under EA's partner program apparently. A company called Spike is doing the handling the Japanese localization and distrubution.
I doubt translating the text took 2 years, so It might took so long due to there being no company in japan willing to pick this up and/or negotiating issues.

Mass Effect for instance also wasn't released in Japan by EA, that was done by Microsoft 2 years after it's initial release (probably in an attempt to promote x-box usage in Japan).

I'm not giving up hope just yet. I'm stubborn like that. :)

But I am going to go grab a shower and some coffee... Not used to being up this early.

Not to mention the Twitter feed of the DA: Legends guy saying that February 1st would "Be exciting". Something is happening today. Whether it's a demo or something else entirely is what needs to be determined.

Not all Scandinavians mind you. I'm Swedish and I haven't gotten one, nor have I seen one of the newsletters in Swedish. Guess it's only the Danes and the Norwegians.
