Yes but the farmville market really isn't DA's target market...  Middle aged homebodies who adore cutsey farm animals probably won't be falling over to cut down genlocks and ogres....

True, but EA definitely wants some of that market potential.  Why else go the Facebook route?

Well facebook is still a good way to get the word out. But to get the market they would have to charge for Legends and I don't think that's the case is it?

What I've heard is that they have optional microtransactions.

I honestly don't think it would be. There's no way in heck they could predict the precise development of a facebook game back before they shipped out Awakening.

Something will happen to day that all of us can enjoy. Not just people in the beta.

Its not that we're ages ahead thats the problem. The problem is that their ages behind.

It still may not be but that is getting a little less likely.

Also it could be that as I and other believed that is was the original release date for DA2 that got pushed back so they substituted that instead.

You can complete it alone IF you spend real money to buy crowns to buy kick ass equipment. Otherwise, no, you'll need friends.

I hope the announcement about DA:L Closed Beta starting today it's just a tip of the iceberg - big announcement - coming today.

DA:L is already in beta; would it be Dark Beta or Closed Beta or whatever, I don't see any difference. They wouldn't give beta keys away if it is really top-secret beta...

What's more, since we know how they were promoting BioWare Bazaar and then it turned out to be a let down (especially for non-US people), we may experience a new let down again :-(

This. I sort of doubt to possibility of a demo as well but I hardly think that going into closed beta for a facebook game was what they had in mind when they wrote the fliers for awakening...
