I think this is a lot more painful, because now we have no idea when or even if there is going to be anything announced (besides DA:L, which - as some already said - doesn't count). 

Well there was also that whole week long countdown thing which ended up being the "epic community event" and that bazaar thing. BioWare seems to enjoy vastly over-hyping miniscule things lately.

In fairness, they haven't done very much hyping of the 2/1/2011 thing at all. These last couple threads have almost entirely been us hyping ourselves. The most you could say is that they haven't stepped in to dissuade us.

Hm, I just noticed that yesterday Dragon Age Legends posted 'Tomorrow's going to be exciting...' Does that mean February the 1st is actually supposed to be about Legends?.. :-(

I thought them naming it the 'dark' beta was just an edgy affectation bought in by the same marketing team that gave us Manson. It does seem odd that they wouldn't just deny the rumours about a demo if this is all it was though.

Yeah, you'd think they would have put an end to the demo speculation if they truly did not intend to release one. I don't see what they gain by not responding in that case, besides disappointed people.

In any event, they'll have to announce what that 2/1/2011 card means sooner or later.
