Exactly, I'm an adult and I can handle disappointment, however they deliberately let us get overexcited. That is where I have a problem.<_<

Well part of being an adult is that it isn't someone else's responsibilty to prevent you from exciting yourself.

Precisely. Wouldn't have taken much effort - or courtesy - to explain that a demo wasn't the surprise. Not granting us that respect is pretty laughable, and especially because it actually turned out to be a beta for a Facebook game, which is probably the lamest possible outcome.

I am also very upset. This is the SECOND time Bioware dropped the ball. First with the bazaar thing and now with this. IMO unacceptable for a company such as Bioware & EA.



Unprofessional to say the least. And the sad part is that no amount of ranting, stopping to buy games (which I know I won't be able to do in any case) or anything else will ever change this. I don't know whether I should be sad or angry.....

Seriously. I wasn't even realistically expecting a demo, but this was just poor form. At least quell the hype before it got out of hand. By letting things spiral out of control, it demonstrated a lack of respect for the dedicated fans.

Yes, but the professional thing to do is to own up and say "There will be no big announcement". Or at least clear up that, "On 2/1/11 there will be no demo". If they're going to double-troll us and it turns out there is, well, that's possibly the most unprofessional thing BioWare has ever done.

If they'd just done that, I'd have been disappointed, but only slightly. My trust in BioWare wouldn't have seen a dent. But letting us get so excited? Why do that?

Agreed that the better course of action would have been a blue post saying there is no demo, if in fact that's true.

Don't shoot the messenger. I'm pretty sure Chris didn't decide any of this. And he can only release information he is allowed to.

On a side note, I think the whole 'thing' that was bound to the flyer has been cancelled or moved and they had to do something to replace it. We can hope marketing won't put in this kind of teases again... or just be even more sceptical next time. You should think that they know time lines can and will change.

On topic, I sincerely hope that BW will release a character creator before the game release. It made waiting for DA:O  much more fun. I prefer this even over a real demo, since I already pre-ordered the game anyway.
