I actually disagree. This, I may actually be able to play if I get a key. A character update or a blog entry, while interesting, would have been even stupider for a big advertisement campaign. I still think 2-1 was probably just the originally planned release date.

On a side note, I think the whole 'thing' that was bound to the flyer has been cancelled or moved and they had to do something to replace it. We can hope marketing won't put in this kind of teases again... or just be even more sceptical next time. You should think that they know time lines can and will change.

On topic, I sincerely hope that BW will release a character creator before the game release. It made waiting for DA:O much more fun. I prefer this even over a real demo, since I already pre-ordered the game anyway.

Seriously. I wasn't even realistically expecting a demo, but this was just poor form. At least quell the hype before it got out of hand. By letting things spiral out of control, it demonstrated a lack of respect for the dedicated fans.

Yes, but the professional thing to do is to own up and say "There will be no big announcement". Or at least clear up that, "On 2/1/11 there will be no demo". If they're going to double-troll us and it turns out there is, well, that's possibly the most unprofessional thing BioWare has ever done.
If they'd just done that, I'd have been disappointed, but only slightly. My trust in BioWare wouldn't have seen a dent. But letting us get so excited? Why do that?

Off topic, I bought the special edition of Dragon Age when it first came out. I haven't bought any of the DLC, so I'm wondering, would it be cheaper for me to buy Awakening, and all other dlc off Xbox live, or should I buy the Ultimate Edition?

This announcement is so popular that their server can hardly cope with all the people trying to sign up. Meanwhile, they annoyed some people on a forum. How exactly did they drop the ball?
