This. They shut down many forums by saying "no". Why couldn't this have happened. Or for that matter, any info on the EA banner.

First part yes agree.

Second part is this isn't a matter of it isn't as huge as it's supposed to be, it's worse than nothing. They have been hyping up a day on which nothing would have been better than "Oh yeah the beta has changed."

They haven't been hyping anything. They had a card with a date in the awakening box, and that was it. It's the 35 threads that were created about that date that created the hype, so you have no one to balme but yourselves.

Then Bioware could have pointed that out beforehand insted of letting us get our hopes up.

We had many reasons to believe there would be something DA2 related announced/released and Bioware just let us disappoint ourselves. One tiny post from Chris or Woo could have prevented all this.

What time is it over in Canada? I have to know that there's still time left on the 1st Feb for them to announce something other than the Legends thingy!

Actually Laidlaw repeatedly assured people that there was something big planned for the date. It's nowhere near bioware bazaar hype but still. Some hype existed outside of the the card.

You're right that the hype was not BioWare's fault.  But, the newsletter leaks were real not "supposed".  If the "demo out now" in three languages was a mistake, BioWare should tell us.

Yep you nailed it.

They did nothing to deny it and let specualtion grow and grow only to announce that there facebook tie in just switched from a dark beta to a closed beta. I blame them like they've never been blamed before.

No offense meant to the DA: Legends team, but count me amongst those a little disappointed by the announcement.



All is not lost though, the day is still quite young here in North America. I'd love to get a demo, but I'll settle for some site updates and/or a video... still a little underwhelming given the hype though.

Me thinks we have a good chance of getting a demo. If not, I won't really be that bothered if we don't.

To be fair, it is not exactly intuitive that people would get angry at Bioware for not babysitting them closely enough.
