Dry you tears my friends. Dry your tears. Best we can do is collect the buckets of them as a reminder that marketing is still one of the most fascinating things in this world. The power you have to control the masses (fans) with something as simple as a game demo or not. Oh hohoho.....

I'm not so disappointed there isn't a demo today, just that the whole mysterious card packed with Awakening with just the date "2/1/2011" was for a freakin' closed beta of a free to play Facebook game?! Really? I mean....really? When asked about that date everyone was all hush hush acting like we'd get to 2/1/2011 and something awesome would happen. Instead its just the announcement of a facebook game that people have already been playing for weeks?



Between this and the Epic Community Event Fail, BioWare's marketing department has a serious problem with hyping up nonsensical mumbo jumbo and then not delivering. Seriously, BioWare is just trolling at this point.

They've denied that it will come out TODAY. They haven't confirmed or denied that it exists.

What bugs the hell out of me is that they haven't confirmed or denied any other announcements that might be made today, either.

FIne.  There's no demo before March 8th.  At that point we'll all be playing the game already and no one will give a crap.

Mr. Gaider, the situation here is particularly amplified by the EA divisions sending out the newsletter with banners for DA2 having a "Demo out now!" pasted on top in giant, red lettering. The fact that these things came straight from EA's own servers confirm something. Right now you say that you (as in Bioware, not just you personally) haven't said yay or nay so far, and this may be true. But there is evidence out there saying there is one, and today was supposed to be a big news day for dragon age fans.

There's been a lot of screw ups that have set this up and are causing the fanbase here quite a bit of frustration as the one group they do trust, Bioware, isn't even dealing with the matter of the EA banners that were hastily removed and replaced as if to say "oops!". I would think that should be on your agenda rather than typing things that can be easily misinterpreted.

I think they just thought it up a few days ago and had no idea what to do on that date before that

You should have learnt by now not to listen to anything anybody says. Don't believe anything until it's in front of you; in your hands or IN YOUR FACE.



Well, at any rate, it's done now. All the discussion and sulking about it won't change it. Yeah, it sucks, but really you're just getting wound up about something you have absolutely no power over. Like the Iraq war or... Snooki being a celebrity.



You're better off playing something else whilst you wait for the actual game to be released.
