Will a Demo for PC be handeld the same way the DLC for Origins was? Cuz that was nothing but a nightmare for me with it never recognizing anything as authorized...

Didn't Baldur's Gate 2 have a pre-release demo? Not that thats a good point of reference, seeing as that was about 10 years ago....

In any event, I'll guess any demo gets released around 12 noon EST on the 1st. Thats when they released most of the DLC for DAO and ME2 as I recall. Although, when does XBox Live or PSN update? The fact that its a Tuesday makes me think its more than just some goofy give away of Legends beta keys.

I don't think this is going to happen but it would be an epic way to officially confirm Merrill as a companion....

lol yes I do sleep.  I went to bed and baby sat my nephew for most of the day and was not on here at all.  I just stand out I guess.

I think it's because our DA:O characters/avatars look similar.

On-topic. The thing I'd be most excited about is spending time tweating a character look and matching it to the V/O. I love the idea of a month to get that right. I really like the Destiny trailer Hawke - That's what I'm aiming for, then I might use the Mirror-thingie to switch to the similar but different pre-set face after one of the time-jumps.

Glad Kirkwall is cold. Antiva City herself couldn't be hotter than Sydney today.

I think there WILL be a demo for DA2... eventually. And I think it'll be a character builder, like DA:O. I seem to remember fiddling around with looks for various Wardens, and then "importing" the best one when DA:O was finally released.


....oh, but I meant to say that I don't think the demo is coming soon. I think we'll have to wait until JUST before DA2 is out. Maybe a week or two beforehand, just to whet our appetites.

Honestly I wouldn't mind just having the demo from the conventions. I want to see how it actually feels to control combat, and I'd like to hear femHawke's voice. I'm still undecided as to whether I'm using default femHawke or custom male Hawke. The voice would be the deciding factor.

Oh, and it would be nice to see how the dialogue wheel turned out. I would probably try all the combinations just to see how well the icons represent the emotions and to see how well the VAs can act.

Edit: Actually, depending on the detail of the character creator (if we get access to that in addition to the demo), I may decide to make a custom character regardless of whether or not I like the femHawke VA.  I was fine with how my Warden turned out, but the new graphics engine plus *hopefully* some more detailed customization would be great.

You know how people keep bringing up the fact that there will be no DA2 demo because our tears sustain the dev team? You've got to remember that Mike Laidlaw the head DA2 honcho has admitted he feeds off of confusion! That last thread and this should keep him going for months! He'll probably toss us a demo for the good job we did!

In an effort to bolster on-topic discussion, how many would actually prefer an actual demo vs. a character creator if you could only have one.

Personally, I want the demo. Want to test out everything from the convo wheel to the new combat.
