I'm just wondering what happened with Mike's policy of "underpromise and overdeliver" in this particular case.

I would just accept a "sorry, we screwed up", don't need anything else.
Really? Do you really think they owe anyone an apology for failing to deliver on an non-specified "something", happening today? Truly amazing. I love these forums sometimes.

I meant that the point of his frustration was that not a single dev seems to be addressing the issue. Without that conversation, it feels as if they herded us into a corner where we can be readily ignored. The lockdowns are superlative to the frustration, but not the true cause of the frustration itself.
And I agree with you. That's why all I'm saying is that keep the rage within the rules, and nobody gets banned and no threads get locked. Want it in every thread? Put it in a sig. Want to spread the word? Keep this thread on page one. Want to get it out there? Email third party sites and tell them.
But even when we're angry at Bioware we're still obligated to play by their rules on their own private forum.

Demanding a demo, or whatever, is indeed being a little bit entitled.Russalka wrote...
Are you not feeling just a little bit too entitled?
However, mocking BioWare for promising "something awesome", only to be presented with a facebook game (the beta that is... one whose existed we were already fully aware off), is not being entitled; it is instead one's moral obligation. Especially after the bazaar silliness.

Look it's a double rainbow!
I just sincerely wished that some dev could have simply denied that the demo was coming out today...would not have led to this much rage.

And does anyone really expect them to "admit they made a mistake" and that "all" they have to offer is this Legends game instead? That would be a huge slight to the people working on Legends...
It's how you do it. You don't release the closed beta today, you release yesterday or tomorrow maybe. Then it is not related to this date at all. It's better than being associated with the date of epic disappointment.

Please people, pay attention to Shorts. Don't be stupid and get yourself banned over this. Be responsible, be reasonable, but let whatever feelings you have about this be known.

We will be eventually be playing the main game at any rate, so I suggest that the source of this, the stupid fb game, be the one to suffer. Everyone should go on fb and "unlike" the fb group that they made us like. Right now the page has 270k fans. We should target to bring that down to below 100k. Not only shouldn't we not forgot this, but we have to make sure that they also not forget it.
I would also "Report" the page as misleading, but I guess that would be wrong. So its upto the individual.
Spread the message guys; pass to on to your friends, paste it on other groups. Bring the facebook group down drastically, we need to see results before the end of this week.

I still can't believe the same people who talk to their fans on forum, answer sometimes even silly questions and make such great games did something as sad and dissapointing like this to us-their fans today:( I just can't understand why they gave us something for facebook insted of something da2 related on February 1st.I'm quite sure they've seen how much we hope for today, there must be some reason for all of it, right?
They didn't, it was the marketing department.

I've reached a point where I don't really care, but I do not like ambulance chasers, people who are trying to use this debacle to get something out of Bioware, you know them, gimme gimme gimme.Meltemph wrote...

Bioware throws in an appology for a mistake, game over and we can all get back to speculating on the main event.

If I explicitly state that I'm not promising to give them cake tomorrow, will they be really upset when I don't bring them cake?
I think the answer is clear that yes they would be upset.
Whatever happens after this, I definitely got my enjoyment out of their date. I mean, you gota admit, these reactions are priceless.
Absolutely. I would of loved a demo. I would of loved to have exactly what all the previewers have had at the conventions so I could judge for myself exactly what they were looking at on my own merits.
But I never got that news letter. No of the EA sites I visit had that banner. THere was no anoucement here (where it would be one of the first places to be announced) so my hopes never went up for it. It was a bunch of here say and guess work getting thrown around.
The same people making the biggest stink are the sames ones that hyped this up around these forums where there has never been any information or confirmation about a public demo coming out.
Entertainment at its finest.

There must be some real consequence for Bioware. Even now they refuse to own up to their mistakes. It is difficult to believe how arrogant Gaider and Chris have acted throughout this fiasco.

So you are frustrated about an anti-climatic ad-flyer and vague talk about something that will happen today? THIS makes you "frustrated"?I meant that the point of his frustration was that not a single dev seems to be addressing the issue.
Without that conversation, it feels as if they herded us into a corner where we can be readily ignored.
Best thing I've read so far in this thread.
