shedding a few tears because your family member just got slaughtered in front of you? Seems reasonable...they could at least do some angry vengeful tears

A slight grimace will do for my Hawke.

I am watching Kaiji right now and I would totally spam a cry option in any game that gave it to me.

lol people complained that the Warden was emotionless statue. You don't get more emotional than crying.

Thanks to you guys who agree with my points

I think Bioware needs to look at there emotion pallette that they can use in this game because why cant we have our characters grow from horrible tragedys to become a stronger, better person.

That would give our characters depth but thats just me.

Not the Elephant in the room or anything.

Suck it up pansy. Crying is for babies and communists, and also communist babies.

I disagree with the general statement that crying is for sissies. Crying a lot for no reason, on the other hand, is a whole different matter. Like I read earlier, it's usually only implemented with the death of a loved one, to which I agree.

However, I honestly do not know how Bioware, or any company for that matter, can implement crying in the PC so that it doesn't seem forced (for any of the potentially millions of people playing the game). In my experience, crying in videogames is cheapened somewhat by the "uncanny valley" effect where it just doesn't look quite right.

It doesn't necessarily have to be tears either but an intense emotional reaction to what's happening. I mean maybe sociopath Hawke is completely capable of being stoic about every tragic life altering event that happens to him/her but I'd like to believe Bioware would allow us to have characters with greater emotional range than that. Hawke can have epic sad face? Yes?

Chuck Norris' tears can cure cancer. Unfortunately for cancer patients, he never cries.

Judging from the demo no such option exist if Carver/Bethany dies.

Even if it does it's rather tricky to pull off the VO for it.

Meh. Personally I think they overdid the 'crying technology' in ME2 just a hair. Sure, Shep didn't cry but nearly everyone else did. (Even Tali, though you couldn't see her tears)

In my experience if you see a dude just start crying   he is about to flip out i was in  in high school back in 2002 and some  bullys we picking on this short geeky kid and he starting crying and screaming  and he hauled off and hit this bigger kid and got  stumped in mud hole that was the most shocking and funny thing i hade ever  saw at the time

Oh, I disagree. I thought it was really moving to see humans and non-humans show intense sadness, and even tears of joy. I thought that the tears were a beautiful expression of what it means to be alive, no matter your race.

At the same time, I can't imagine that Bioware would ever want to apply this to a Player Character in any game. Personally, I was moved to tears during Tali's mission, and it wouldn't have been out o fplace for my f!Shepard to start crying, too. However, I can imagine that a lot of people would have been upset if she had.

The responses would have gone something like this:
"You took my strong, independent woman and made her cry! I disapprove!"

The same goes for Wardens. I think a Player Character is more likely to look distressed or distraught, since those things apply to a more wide variety of players. Crying would only appeal to a few, so I don't think it'll ever be an "option" for Player Characters.

No, not because of the reasons stated, but I seriously doubt BW could pull it off w/out it looking forced, cliched and possibly retarded.  No offense intended, my main femShep can produce the saddest doe eyes sometimes, more than I've seen on most but it works better when the look is subtle.  Anything beyond that distorts the face and is almost as bad as Smiling Miranda:o
