Yeah, it is good they report it but FOX turned it into a witch hunt and stated things about Mass Effect that was not true in any way. They took some rumours and turned it into ridicilous news. Took a psychologist that havent even played the game and made her say it was bad for kids. Hey, it was like 5 seconds sequence who showed nothing and btw, its a choice.

Partially. It was as single opinion news show host giving an opinion based on bad facts.  IMO, it was neither wide-spread nor long lasting enough to be considered a "witch hunt", and blaming this particular opinionist is more correct, as the facts were immediately disputed by other people, on Fox News as well as other sources.

Guys, you should read more carefully. The linked site says the CC is given a certificate like the one they give pornographic material not the game itself. Now I'm wondering if I missed the "disable all clothes" button somewhere in the CC options, if this is just an attempt to draw some attention to the site which reported this or if this is just a mistake Bioware made and corrected, cause I can't find a certificate anywhere on the CC site. In any case this is just lame. Could be a prank. The Mass Effect discussion by the slimy liars at FOX was ridiculous enough.

Yeah, we've seen it. If you read Maria's post you can see that the gates for the land of silly just flew open.

:OThis smilely face got really excited at the mention of porn, though.

I thought this was about a BBC story, not ranting against the admittedly execrable Fox News channel.

Somehow, though, I don't think a thread with the word porn in its title will die like Napoleon requested.

There's nothing about the BBC in that story, and the writer is someone from zconnect.

Quite right. That was a typo; I meant the BBFC story, as in the story about the BBFC. Fixed.

No, it doesn't. It says the STEAM PAGE for the CC has that rating. If you go to the BBFC site, you can do a search for the dragon age. They've only rated the game itself, not the CC.

Okay, but it's not a story about the BBFC either. The BBFC hasn't rated the character creator.

It's right above the "play" button. ;)

For those of you who want to look up the listing on the BBFC website, you can do so here. Just type in the words Dragon Age and hit submit.

You win. I refuse to be more pedantic in my corrections than you are in your criticisms. :P

Okay, okay. I'm sure I come of as pedantic (and I am) but the title of the thread is misleading, and several people seem to have misread the article.

"LET'S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN!"

British naughtiness mixed with Bioware's past relationship with some commentator on FOXNews make for Maria's pro America platform.

"Sign me up for Army!"

Although I'd prefer the Ukranian one...

Seriously... what's the point of this topic?

Probably to drive traffic and revenue to the site. Don't bother clicking the link and giving them any.

Why would a kid pay $50 for a game with porn in it. I mean the intrnet has all the free porn you can think of. So if a mom can't stop her kid from playing DA:O then that kid must have seen crazyer stuff then this game will even have in it.

No worries - I struggle with my pedantism every day and my post wasn't the most considered thing I've ever written. Fighting misunderstandings and misinformation on the DA:O forums is an epic struggle and I take my hat off to you for your efforts.

Well, if the steam page features the certificate (which as far as I see isn't even the case) and the CC was not rated then I'd suppose the one who wrote this garbage wanted some clicks on his page or was drunk when he wrote that. Maybe both. Ah, what do I care. Image IPB

And now if you excuse me, I have to go and enlist in the Ukrainian army. You get your own tank, a flower vase full of (alcoholic?) beverage and all the girls will totally dig you. Advertisings, especially high quality ones like the one Staylost included in his post, never lie! Image IPB

It is also off topic on this forum.  Random rants about politics, news stations, celebrities, etc are not appropriate here.  Thanks.

Its funny It started off as a fox bash but soon as someone showed up with facts about what happened about that news story all the fox bashers suddenly go quiet.... well untill that guy came in with his rant.

Its obviously just a mistake made by who ever inputs the ratings on steam for the UK. Im sure we have all done something like that input the wrong answer in a field on a test or when filling out a survey. Im sure after all this kicked up dust settles the rating will have already been changed.

To relay the great news that BBFC says Dragon Age is porn.

Actually it says the Dragon Age Character Creator is porn, but the game isn't. I'm not quite sure how that works out.
