Howevah! I was listening to Posession by Sarah McLachlan and it reminded me of her. So I thought I would stop in and contribute that little tidbit to the real Morinth fans.
"The night is my companionAnd solitude my guide
Would I spend forever here
And not be satisfied
And I would be the one
To hold you down
Kiss you so hard
I’ll take your breath away
And after I’d wipe away the tears
Just close your eyes dear"
Oh! I love her voice actor, too. She's pretty bomb.

Troll? Really? He just didn't know a support thread existed, and since even I don't know where it is, who can blame him?
I count myself as one of the few people who actually sympathizes with her, at least that I know of.
Wait, in any of this posts before this one I can't find "lolz you are troll"

I love Morinth for the story, but can't imagine her as a teammate. I could never betray Samara that way. I'm pretty Renegade, but that's just cold!

Yeah, Thane is underrated.
As for Morinth, I sympathise with her too. Her personality does not match with the restrictive nature that others, she yearns for freedom, and who can blame her?
And she may not be sadistic. It is specified that Ardat-Yakshi become addicted to the killing. She may appear to enjoy it, but that may also be her coping mechanism.
Wanted to say thanks for this (especially the bold part). It would add so much more depth if she actually tried to live with it only to be disgusted by it regardless of what she did.

I respect a personality that wants freedom, expression and independance. Morinth would have likely been very different if she wasn't born an Ardat-Yakshi. As she says in the confrontation with Samara, she didn't choose it. She can't help who she is.

But that was never suggested in the game at all. In fact the opposite was suggested more than once. She doesn’t just kill, she enjoys the hunt, manipulating and tormenting her victims aswell. Perhaps deep down....very very deep down she feels remorse, perhaps she originally did feel remorse, taught herself to enjoy it as a way to cope and just got worse from there but really this is speculation based on nothing at best.

I like to think that it is a coping mechanism. She has an (uncontrollable?) addiction. Teem that with an urge for independance and freedom, then she has a moral dilemna where she can either go into hiding, which goes against her personality. Or, she can feed on her addictions and try to endure her hardships by enjoing the 'hunt.'
Personally, I think she is evil and prefer to recruit Samara, but I do sympathise with her.

Honestly the way she describes the things in her apartment you'd have to have Conrad Verner level stupidity not to tell she wants to kill you.
If people like her thats fine. I usually give certain characters chances sometimes, but I dont plan on ever giving her or Udina (which is unrelated) one. Sorry.

I like Morinth, but only my most evil/stupid Renegades ever save her. I love her voice.
Even on my renegade runs, I can never bring myself to betray Samara. Especially for a mind-rape murderer who plans on killing you, given the chance.
I even felt bad watching Morinth kill Samara on youtube.

Yeah it does seem absurdly stupid to pick her over samara especially considering she isn't any stronger. If she had been winning against Samara then maybe you might have had a reason to recruit her instead but as it is there is little reason to side with her. Maybe if Shep and Samara both really hated each other and Shep thought Samara would be a threat after the mission is complete maybe? but even then you're really not much safer with Morinth.Durontan wrote...
I sympathize with her... but honestly... not even my renegade Shep chose Morinth. The way Morinth comes ino play is just... well... retarded. She tries to eat you alive, and then when Samara who you know has sworn to fight with and for you has a stalemate, both ask you for support. Seriously, one just tried to kill you, other is sworn to fight for you... no serious player would EVER chose Morinth over Samara then. That was one single part of the game that I felt was wrongly written. Entire Morinth apartment thingie was off imo.

In this case, do you think Samara would be like Morinth if she was an Ardat-Yakshi, or like her sisters who are in hiding.
Bearing in mind that Samara does say Morinth reminded her of herself. And she praises Morinth for being the bravest and smartest of her daughters...
Just throwing it out there
