The ones I know are singularity will stop or stagger enemies with protection and incinerate deals a large amount of damage to shields. Any other powers that will work against certain protected enemies that doesn't seem it would work or whatever?
What powers that isn't supposed to work against certain protected enemies will work against enemies with protection again?

Stasis will hold enemies regardless of protection
Flashbang grenade will stagger enemies and bugs Harbinger who then stops attacking you
Combat Drone of course will cause enemies to attack it regardless of their protection

Actually every power can be casted upon any protection. The real question is what effect they have. Warp for instance has a knockback effect that even affects YMIR Mechs, even if it does only little damage to their shields.
Other than that, mostly there is just the difference in damage dealt.

Power Damage Modifiers vs Resistances:
* Warp, Reave: x2 armor, barrier
* Overload, Energy Drain: x2 shields
* Concussive Shot: x3.5 barrier (note this is a low damage power)
* Incinerate: x2.4 vs armor
* Incendiary Grenade: x2 vs armor
* All other biotics: x1.5 barrier
* All other tech powers: x1.5 shields
* Shadow Strike: x2.0 to shields, armor, barrier
* Flashbang Grenade: x1.0 to shields, armor, barrier
* Warp, Reave: x2 armor, barrier
