Hi, i bought Baldurs Gate 1+2 pack a few months ago. there are 4 dvd´s in total, one for BG 1, one for Tales of the Sword coast etc.

However, something i´ve noticed it the DVD rarely boots. What happens is; i put in the DVD, my computer does some sounds, then go off like a steamroller, aaaand no disc in drive appearently, since "My computer" still says "DVD-Ram drive".
I´ve been having this problem with most old-games-brought-on-dvd. I´m just curious what the problem is? Since i dont experience any trouble at all with new game DVD´s (The witcher, Mass Effect 2, Crysis etc) 
I also run it on XP.

Make sure there are no scratches on disc. Check for firmware updates for drives.

having same sort of issue bought 4 in 1 and cant get BG to install i get the install menue then nothing happens running win7 64 bit can you help

Turn off UAC, Don't install to program files(x86)
