hi all, yeasterday I purchased DAO ultimate edition fromm the EA store and Downloaded it through EADM and when I installed the game added any DLC I started it up and added the email to register it then gives me this message
Error There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall your game.
I tried the tips in the tips in this earlier thread http://social.biowar...58/index/189269 but it still did not work, does anyone have a work around for this as I am pulling my hair out as I am looking forward to playing this. I have currently uninstalled and redownloading through EADM.

There have been some problems with servers related to DA today so that might be something to do with it. A lot of people are having problems it might be worth just waiting it out and trying again later.

They do when it comes to DLC it's usually checked when you log in so in some cases it may not let you start the game if it can';t connect to the servers and check your DLC. This is mainly me guessing from what you described to be the problem though it sounds like it';s something to do with the servers not being able to register your game.

I reinstalled the game, patched it to 1.04 then used the daupdater.exe to install any dlc then ran patch 1.04 again and still the same error, any ideas as this is a game I have looked forward to getting for a while.

Lock thread, I found out the problem. Thanks for your help Gorath (sarcasm) I know why you are unpaid tech help now, yer not much use other than linking to your sanctimonious Unanswerable questions -- incomplete w/o data ! thread. But thank you sincerely Moondoggie for taking the time to answer me.

I am having the same problem. I own a copy of Origins, and the Ultimate edition. Both run normally without patch 1.04, except that the program sometimes crashes when I pause, issue orders to each party member, and then try to move immediately after unpausing.

With patch 1.04 installed, I am prompted for my login information.  When I submit the information, I am told, "there is a problem with your game's setup.  Please reinstall the game."  I have now reinstalled the game twice and the problem persists, despite having thrown away my settings on each uninstallation.

Are you trying to run both versions of the game at once?  Did you uninstall the old version before installing Ultimate Edition?  And is this on disc, EA Download, Steam?  or some other source?

So is there any solution to this? "There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall the game."

I have tried every single hint i found here and nothing is working... killed 1.5 hours of my life on reinstalling and reading.

Ive got Ultimate Edition from direct2drive today and i cant fix this issue.

I bet its just EA being slow and i have to wait untill they decide that my DLC's will be authorized... just like Crysis from Steam not long time ago... game wasn't able to launch 2 days.

The Ultimate Edition has already been patched to the 1.04 level, so that trying to patch it again makes a mess.

Origin from EA solved the problem for me. I deleted files from Direct2Drive and downloaded the game using Origin. Everything is already installed and ready to play after download is finish :)

PS: I havent try to patch the game, files from Direct2Drive simply haven't include DLC's and manual install just crashed the game. Anyway from Origin is everything working fine.
