This occured to me when I pre-ordered the collectors edition of Starwars Force Unleashed 2.

1 Day before the game arrived - I received an e-mail saying
"We are very sorry, we are currently unable to give you access to your collectors edition/pre-order bonus items due to demand, but as consolation, here is an in-game item code for ' <insert color name> Sabre Crystal"

Blah Blah Blah
It should be noted, that the Sabre Crystal unlock code, was(Still is) actually free-ly available on Gamefaqs.com - its a cheat code, which disables in-game saving.

Basically, I paid for the collectors edition, and pre-ordered it, was expecting a bonus cinematic dvd, and they were apologizing for not providing what I had paid for.

After phoning them, being on hold for 30 minutes, and then being hung up on by some trainee who pushed the wrong button when she tried to take me off hold, I wrote a long winded e-mail complaining about the service, and demanding either my money back, or the bonus content I was being denied.

Im happy to say, I did actually get my Bonus Content & Collectors Edition DVD a week later in the post.

This is just a heads up, because I know alot of us have pre-ordered the signature edition of DA2, and are paying good money for it.

Do not let Game.co.uk take you for a ride.
If you paid for it, you are entitled to it, (I mean, the Collectors Edition of most games, is a good £20 more pricey than the normal edition, for that extra £20, they need to give you something - not excuses)
If they say they ran out of <insert product here>, demand to know when more will be in stock, and do not stop pestering them until you get it. It sounds mean, I know, but it works.

Strange. I've always received my pre-order incentive when ordering from GAME. Did you pre-order a week before?

Order date: 02/10/2010

e-mail Date - 28/10/2010

Dear Customer,

Thank you for preordering your copy of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 from GAME.co.uk Unfortunately, due to supply issues out of our control, we have not been able to despatch the cinematic DVD preorder bonus, but are able to provide the in-game character and WhiteSaber Crystal unlock codes.

Character unlock code: TK421

White Saber Crystal unlock code: SOLARI

How to use your unlock codes: Begin a new game or load an existing Save Game. At any point during gameplay, pause the game and select options from the pause menu. - Select Cheat Codes from the Options Menu. - Enter the Cheat Code using the system keyboard. - A dialog box will appear after the code is successfully entered and activated. - Return to the Pause Menu and select Costumes to equip your Costume.

We are sorry for any disappointment that this may have caused but hope that you enjoy your in-game features. The GAME.co.uk Customer Service Team

A tradionalist I see.. well it's usually cheaper and more convient for me to buy online. Besdies you don't have to deal with the smell of sweaty armpits or rude employees who love to squint.

I tend to go with Play.com as they normally are the best with Pre-order items, they also normally have extra pre-order items exclusively for them.

Heh, I pre-ordered from GAME. I used to pre-order off Amazon.uk, but when I pre-ordered Awakening they sent me the wrong version of the game =P (360 instead of PC), so this time I ordered off GAME. I'm kinda glad, because Amazon isn't even doing the pre-order bonus, so at least I have a right to complain to GAME if they don't send me them.

Once I bought a game in a game store, got home, and it was empty save for the instruction manual... no cd.

I returned, and said, 'Hi, can I get a cd to go with this lovely box'

I've only ordered a few things off the web from game, they have either been a weekend late, or not what i ordered.

I'm just hoping I get the thing and it doesn't get lost in the mail since my country is not very well known.

Sounds like sore luck. Everything I've ordered always seems to arrive a day before it's official release date. Not like that'll matter with DA2, considering it's release date control.

I do hope thats true,
I pre-ordered something in the past, few years ago, thinking that because its pre-ordered, it would arrive a day early.
Because the release date landed on a weekend/friday however, it worked out that the delivery was delayed till the Monday, and it would have been faster to go to the shop and purchase it there.

I for one will always preorder and buy games in-store, as I DESPISE online retailers. And it seems for good reason, what with the issues going round with amazon.co.uk and the such. Even though I'm in US, that's still BS, and makes me want to avoid online retailers all the more.

Don't like Game either as I had a similar story with them - they have very bad customer service and seem to have a preferential treatement for their UK customers passing over those who buy from them abroad. I now buy from Amazon.co.uk - it's faster, cheaper and more reliable. Or from Steam.

It seems that GAME is not providing the Lion of Orlais Shield or Fadeshear sword on Signature Edition preorders (although they are offering the pre-order bonuses on the normal editions).

I contacted them several days ago and recently received the following reply:

Hi Alexandre,

Thank you for your email.Unfortunately we are currently unable to offer the preorder bonuses for the signature edition.I apologise for any disappointment.

Your best bet in the UK is to order all your games from shopto.net because they break street date all the time.

When ordering my signature edition shortly after the new year I assured the GAME assistant that the Qun was with me and if my promised goods were not recieved in good and prompt order on the eleventh of january that I would wax wroth and deliver the judgement of the Beresaad upon the bas who seek to deny me my due.

The little human spent five minutes looking up at me and then said, "oooooookay" and reassured me that he would personally see that my order was delivered in top quality and with the utmost care, I am confident that my expectations will be met.

Ataash Qunari.

Since then they seem to have changed their mind :P

There are currently two threads on this 1, 2 and some proof.

Also, sorry to hear game.co.uk are not offering pre-order items with the SE, if that's the case then it's the third UK retailer I know of not supplying them. (Amazon.co.uk, thehut.com, game.co.uk)

I will also be missing out on them unless BioWare/EA decides to live up to their word.

This just sounds stupid. They offer it for the normal edition but not for the Signature Edition? WTF? Mail Chris pronto.

GAME seem to be having trouble with the pre-order items as a few days ago they were only offering the bonuses on the ps3 and x360 but now they are being offered for pc and x360. Anyway I have just messaged Chris to ask if the email from Game was an admin error or if they opted out from offering the bonuses to Signature edition pre-orders.
