I was hoping for the character creator but it was pretty clear this was the most likley outcome. I'm sure the original launch date was 2.1.11 and it slipped (like all games though). They tried to appease people by launching something and I thank them for that but I don't plan to play this game. It looks ugly, seems boring and costs money.

Not the announcement...of the start of the beta of a facebook game...
For Gods sake its a beta for a facebook game!!! Come on, surely you guys didnt think this was a good idea.
If it was the actual game...then yeah that would be okay...but its the closed beta.

While my overall faith in bioware is not shaken..I am still disappointed...it really seems more like an insult than an announcement.

My guess is they had to produce SOMETHING to get people excited on some level. You can't just put 2-1-11 in a DA:O box and have nothing to show for it

They haven't yet said how the items will be unlocked, just that they're in there. I'm assuming that won't be announced til toward the end of the beta.

I mean they already told us that the SE doesn't include the pre-order items today if your retailer does not list it.
I just figured they were going for a whole day of disappointments to get them out of the way for 2011?

Don't get too excited about the game (As if anyone already was). You can only do 3 battles at a time, the loot drops are horrible and you can't upgrade the equipment of your companions. All you can do with your money is build your castle and have them make better and more potions faster.



To buy actual upgrade equipment, you have to pay REAL money to get credit to do so. After every battle, the two companions you choose will be unavailable for 2 to 4 hours, effectively limiting the number of battles you can do in one sitting at 3. That of course doesn't address the fact that visiting any location takes energy, which also recharges over time.



Of course, you can always use REAL money to buy more energy to do more encounters, but there's 0 point as you can't use any of your companions until they recharge. Of course, you can charge into battle alone and die every time if you like.



Finally, you can inexplicably visit the castles of all of your companions and your quest giver and lust after all of the crap they have. That's all you can do though, just visit. So, it's just a tease.



As soon as I unlock the items, I'm done with it.

Hei ppl. Look, this game has to be a really great. It is SOMETHING LIKE A DEMO. You will be abe to receive some extra items to DA2, you can play with friends. So I say, ok BW I will try it and hope I will enjoy ... Be happy that they are trying to give us at least something to play until DA2, that is great in my opinion.



Now, lets repair those server and cya all in DA:L ...And even if you all are trolling here I know you all will be playing it or at least try Except those ho doesnt have FB. Or maybe they will create acc now

 Why so late of a release though? For those who will never receive a beta key, the only option is to play the game in March. When DA2 comes out. So that they miss out on the exclusive items offered via Legends. 

At least Journey was available for everyone a month in advance, and everybody had the option to pursue the DLC items offered without having to participate in a beta. <_<

Ugh. Honestly, I wouldn't mind a facebook game (I enjoyed the Assassin's Creed one, for instance), but I really don't like the sound of this one. Plus, trying to get us to use REAL MONEY on a freaking facebook game is just bs
