Probably put it off this long so that they didn't have to include it in the PS3 release as that probably went gold months and months ago, and releasing any new DLC before the PS3 version was released would mean that they would be lieing about it including all the ( then ) currently released DLC.

Not really relevant, because they never said it included everything, just the story-based DLC, and as it turned out, it didn't include everything.  Hence stuff like the N7 Arsenal Bundle and Recon Ops Pack which are both paid-DLC.

I like Grunt's, except for the visor. Can't make up my mind about Tali and Miranda's.

Chris (or any other BioWare employees reading), I know it may be too late since it's only a week away from release, but is there a chance at all that each outfit has an alternative version that's essentially the same but without the head-gear, visors, glasses, etc? Y'know, so the player can pretty much choose Alt Costume 2 with headgear, or without headgear?

I personally actually like the look of the outfits from what I've seen, but I hate the stuff on their faces. This was the same for the original Alt Appearance Pack too, and these were the main factors that stopped me using them in-game (except for Garrus, since I felt his armour needing fixing was a higher priority).

If you guys could present this option to players it would be really awesome.

Oh, and it'd be nice to know whether when in dangerous environments whether Miranda's alt gets a proper helmet, or is it just another breathing-mask affair?

I wouldn't get my hopes up at the moment I would say there is zero chance of that happening.  The previous appearance pack was an "all or nothing" deal ie if you chose the costume you got the hilariously comical sunglasses.  It will be the same thing with this appearance pack, if you want Miranda wearing that armour she is going to wear that visor.

At this point I have to wonder does Bioware hate their character creations that much that they take every single opportunity to get us to cover the faces up ?  If we never get anything else out of Bioware I would just like to know WHY they expend so much energy in creating items that obscure the faces in Mass Effect ?

I mean how much clearer do the fans/customers have to make it that we DO NOT like obscuring the characters faces ?  I don't want a lovely looking woman like Miranda wandering around the place with some day glo orange stripe across her face.  I honestly find it baffling that this helmet/face coverings fetish that Bioware has is still going on well over a year later.

1. What the deuce is that blue stuff on Tali's legs?

2. Where is Tali's supposed interface?

3. Sentry-esque interface for Miranda seems cool, well better than hilariously bad Thane/Jack opaque sunglasses.

4. Is that paint on Grunt's chest an Urdnot symbol or something? Or was he finger painting as most infants do? I severely doubt anyone would have been brave enough to draw on him whilst he slept.

Yeesh people, the point of these alternates is to look more like armor, clearly, since so many people were whining about that. But it wouldn't be very protective if they never bothered to cover their heads, so the best BioWare can do to give us a 3rd option that looks practical in combat without covering up the character's faces is to give them something like the visors.

And for crap's sake, Miranda and Grunt's things look translucent.

Miranda's looks cool, can't really see any worthwhile differences with Grunt and Tali. Probably won't get it since I never use any of them (except for the final mission where various team members have to go off and do individual bits). Pity Miranda still looks fugly though.

Still not as cool as Jack's biker jacket. And I happen to like Jack's shades too.

I just wish they would stop with the visors. It ruins the characters for me :(

Other than that they look really good to me.

Junk is junk. When's the next actual DLC going to be coming out? Note I don't hate the outfits, they actually look half decent, but why visors? Why? Does someone in Bioware have a visor fetish? I just think these appearance packs are useless junk.

I think I'm gonna start an Infiltrator playthrough with Miranda and Grunt as my squadmates.

Amazing how such a tiny addition manages to suck me back in.

I am sorry what ?  How protective were the sunglasses for Jack and Thane ?  Just exactly how protective is Grunts new armour when there are gaping holes in it and you can see his skin ?

Yes because in combat that is just what you need something obscuring your vision and distracting you with a whole batch of crap in front of your eyes

Garrus started quite a fashion trend in the Mass Effect universe.

Garrus did say that bringing him along would equal saving all intelligent life forms more stylishly of course.

Actually, as soon as they enter a dangerous evironment the helmets should automatically appear, as they already do in the games (well... when the characters have helmets instead of just silly breathing masks, as if the only problem they'll ever face in space is a lack of air).

I'm hoping (but not terribly confident) that Miranda gets a proper helmet this time when this happens, and that Grunt not only does too, but something covers his exposed arms. Currently leaving his upper-arms exposed still seems to defeat the purpose if that's what BioWare was going for here, and the same applies to Miranda is all she ends up getting is another dinky face mask. Her new armour will be almost completely meaningless if that's the case.

Why are there always ugly visors covering their eyes?Is it the designer's fetish?

I like it. May actually buy it! (Normally I mod this sort of stuff myself, but Miri's armour just looks too fab to miss.)

I don't really mind the visors. They fit the 'battle-ready' theme and you can actually see their eyes this time.

The visors distract from the fact that the outfits are mostly just recolors.
