I'm a huge fan of realism, but ME2 doesn't bother me that much.
Why doesn't Garrus fix his armour (it seems to be fixed i the AAP1, but since it's dlc it doesn't really count)?
Why does Tali run around in such a non protective armour if she can literally die with one hit?
If I were a quarian, i would run around in the heaviest armour available and if I'm to weak to run around in that, I would get myself a robot exoskeleton like they used in Alien 2 to stack crates... hell quarians are basically space Mac Gyvers, they should be able to build something like that from a coke can and a tamagotchi!

ME2 to me isn't about realism, I called my Paragon Shepard Jesus, because I think he might be the real deal ; )
Maybe everyone gets an extra layer of protection because of Shepards awesomeness, or bullets are afraid of travelling into his direction or that of his friends, pick what you want :P

I like Miri's Catwoman style and since you might get blind if you look at Shepard too long ((s)he is like an atomic explosion), you've got to have an alternative eye candy.
Keep ****ty Miranda at least as an alternative in ME3 Bioware!

I like Mirandas original catsuit MUCH better. Her new alternative outfit is a downgrade from the original. It may be more "realistic" for her to have the heavier armour but I still prefer the catsuit.

Bioware: Please give us a catsuit option for Miranda in ME3.

My take on the new outfits.

Grunt = awesome

Tali = pretty much the same

Miranda = epic fail

Like them all but surely they could have given all the other squad memebers a 3rd outfit?

While I haven't been able to get these armors due to Bioware's problems with adding the points, I personally think that these armors look OK. Heck it would be even better if they had more metal and would be more bulkier. No kinetic shield is going to offer full protection in a firefight, it's job is mostly to protect against a random or unexpected hit, from shrapnel and such but not to survive against several hits. So Miranda running around in her Catwoman suit and protected by just some kinetic barrier - come on. Armor is still armor and out there all should have it, appropriate armor. So if anything, these armors are still little bit too skimpy and only reason why they survive the fights is because opponents as it seems, go figure why, are really only interested in killing Shepard. So if anything, add more metal to them, To all of them. I want to see more realistic protection on my team mates, not some jammies behind some little "shield". ESPECIALLY when they enter hazardous environment or (almost) outer space.

Outside of combat, though, sure, let them wear whatever they want. Personally I would even like to see more out of combat gear (though some concealed weapons should still be present) what could be worn on the ship and ALSO while out in the city, so to say. In a way it always makes me chuckle to see how "trusting" people are in ME universe, when somewhere in civilian area where all are in casual clothing, all happy and smiling and suddenly Shepard and his posse waltzes in, clad in heavy armor and armed up to their brows (and over) with some of the most powerful combat hardware which doesn't require a motorized platform yet. And people still sit there and smile and walk around and don't mind a band of possibly suspicious characters who have enough firepower to start a coup. Sheesh... More realism please, or at least more logical options Bioware.

Too late for ME1 and ME2 but at least there may still be a chance for ME3. Maybe.

Just downloaded. Miranda and Tali's armor looks awesome grunt looks cool too but I still like his standard armor. Hopefully they carry this into ME3 and give everyone some armor on combat missions and suits with helmets for missions with enviro hazards.

I loved the new appearances. Miranda's is perfect for battle. Grunt's visors work well and it reminds me of the Geth armor Wrex could wear. Tali is armored up and I feel less vulnerable as a Quarian. If only we could have gotten some actual armor for Jack.

Infantry armor in the Mass Effect universe, like modern combat armor, is not made principally of metal, but metal-dipped polymers covered in ablative ceramic plating.

Moreover, PMCs, security firms with military-grade weaponry, and freelance mercenaries are quite common in the Mass Effect universe, so people don't tend to react the same way to well-armed individuals walking around their planet like they might in our world.

For anyone wondering how Grunt looks with his breather helmet... Its not too bad. Sorry about the quality, the images were taken on the geth station so the blueish lighting might be having an effect. However besides this one annoying detail Grunts armor is really well done.

I haven't gotten to using Grunt with his new armor in an enviro-hazard area yet but, it's not as bad as people make it out. It may not suit the entire armor but atleast it isn't the only silver on it. Some of the minor silver-white colors blend with it. Though it may only look acceptable due to the geth lighting. The flotilla might shed a new opinion on it's acceptability. Along with Legion getting his whole fixed complaints, yes I would like it. I understand it would mess with the majority of what makes Legion, Legion. I just find it a fun idea to be toyed with that I could possess a more complete geth on my ship. Id even be fine with just a recolor of Legion though I find his post-Loyalty armor to be outstanding as it is. I mainly just hinge towards getting Morinth's club clothes as a more permanent option. Instead of just her occasional need to slip out of Justicar clad.

I loved Mirandas new outfit, it was great!! Garrus new suit was also awesome. Yay for new outfits. Talis is pretty cute but could have been a little more different from what she usually wear =)

That depends on the world I think. Sure, on Omega it's common to see people running around armed to the teeth (Arias people, Mercs etc.), maybe on Ilium since the borders between legal business and criminal activity are pretty blurry there, but on the Citadel for example it might look a bit suspicious...it's kinda strange that they just let you pass fully armed when C-Sec is supposed to be alert.

I've noticed that the targeting display in Tali's helmet appears to have Quarian writing on it. That's nice attention to detail and it makes sense.

The blueish lighting is making it look better. Michel1986 posted these in the PC screenshots thread...

Definitely not acceptable and should've been caught before release.

On the Citadel Shepard is a hero, savior of the Citadel, and either a former Specter or a Specter (depending on how you played that character in ME1).

Other hand I did always find it amusing how the C-Sec Captain confides he doesn't have to wory about you smuggling weapons in when you're loaded for bear in full battle armor.

True, but still...some off-duty-clothes for everybody would be nice. Even if nobody's really bothered by Shepard and his "henchmen", it's a bit conspicuous, isn't it? Being a well-known hero can be a  disadvantage if you try to be discreet.:)

I thought Grunt's helmet looked pretty dumb, but I think I may have found an angle that makes it actually kinda neat: what if it's not supposed to fit the armor, it's supposed to be evocative of a skull? Remember Wrex's retelling of the Crush he attended with his father, where said father's men hid in the graves to ambush Wrex? It could be that Clan Urdnot has adapted that style as a mockery of Jarod. Otherwise there are plenty of reasons a warrior might favor skull imagery.
