I was skeptical about the game first, because sequels tend to disappoint 50 % of the time, but after looking some more into it and researching about the bits that we already know, I decided that it wasn't as bad as I first thought. In fact, I started to like what they had and now, I'm excited like a fat kid for cake. I honestly can't wait anymore
1 to 10, how excited are you for Dragon Age II?

So no urgency, game may be fine and all, but my excitement reached 2/10.
Disclaimer: my excitement has nothing to do with february's announcement or any other BW shortcomings mind you.

I don't know... It's hard to quantify that way. I'm really looking forward to the story, the lore, and the possibility of interacting with exiled Alistair, perhaps helping him move on to something. I'm dreading the dialogue wheel, and to a lesser extent, the voiced PC. I'm horrified by the graphic style and the GUI redesign. How do I put a number on that?
Sounds like it evens itself out, so... 5?

Those two points are because I enjoy the lore of the series and hope to see a better DA3. But between everything which has been said and done with this game, the ****** poor marketing scheme going on, the trashing of Origins in previews in an attempt to make this look better, and the lack of any real reveal about the substance of the game, I've gone from horribly disappointed yet expectant to just getting a bad feeling about this product. Simply put, I'm getting a Fable-like vibe that, despite all the hype which will be inevitably chucked at us the following month, this is going to be rather mediocre.

Looks good, but not nearly as good as The Witcher 2, Shogun Total War or Deus Ex:HR IMHO.

4/10, I'm terrified of the battle system, everyone outside of these forums thinks it is going to be a train wreck.
But we'll see I guess.
Edit: Aka I'm renting it.
That is categorically untrue.
Nobody who has actually played it* thinks it is going to be a train wreck. I've yet to see a negative review of it. In fact the most negative thing I've read about it so far from someone who has played it is that its too much like Origins and whatever 'new' system they've added isn't 'new' enough.
Anyway, in response to this thread, about 8. I'm definitely excited about it but I don't think anything will top my excitement for Skyrim. Which incidentally, if you go to Bethesda's forum, is going to be TEH WURST GAME EVUR as well.
*= i.e. the opinions that actually matter.

I'm going to respond to that in that I'm not so much worried about this demo business. But so much as that they've been intentionally hiding the gameplay, you can't really argue that when they first showed the gameplay it wasn't a gigantic train wreck, the constant promises that this 'wasn't the finished product' most took as double speak as (The graphics will be better, we swear, and will remove those awful dysfunctional armor from the blight, we swear.) Not so much that they'd improve the gameplay, from what I've seen they've back-pedalled on what they put on the demo and have been showing the gameplay to look largely similar to dao except now the refresh gauge on your skills is much shorter, which isn't actually a plus or a minus.
It's unreasonable to expect you to read every post, so I requoted something I posted on the 4th page.

I used to be very excited, and I really like the bast majority of the changes they made. But I'm getting more and more caution everyday about DA2 being the greatest hype ever. Specially after the 2.1.2011 thing being the announcement of a beta of a facebook game.

Hell yes! I just finished another play with the main campaign and just started in awakenings and it is an awesome game! I keep finding these little changes that I missed the first time or three around.
