I used to be very excited, and I really like the bast majority of the changes they made. But I'm getting more and more caution everyday about DA2 being the greatest hype ever. Specially after the 2.1.2011 thing being the announcement of a beta of a facebook game.

What does the marketing have to do with the game itself?

Im certainly hopeful that it'll be great, I preordered the Signature edition months ago, so I've got a vested interest in it being super fun :) . Having said that, I was way WAY more excited about a month or so before DAO's launch. All the news was just so exciting, it wasn't the same kind of mixed bag of good and bad news about the various features and such, it was virtually all positive. So I prefer taking a 'hope for the best' attitude instead of an actual 'expect the best' one, and as such I'll put my excitement at a 7/10. Im hopeful that soon we'll start learning more information that can push that number up to 10, where it was before DAO came out (and fully lived up to that 10).

I often interpret poor marketing or lack of marketing as a fear or concern that the product is not up to scratch and they don't want to hype it up too much.  I don't believe that this is the case for Dragon Age 2, but just how I view marketing in general.

Usually when the marketing tightens up on information it's because they're hoping to get a lot of preorders in so that even if it's lauded as the worst game ever, they'll make a tidy profit.

8/10. Some of the drastic changes are hard to come to grips with. But otherwise it looks awesome. A fresh, fun and unique experience. After I play it it will probably bump up to 9 or 10/10, as is the case with most of Bioware's games.

Hey, if it makes them stop showing dlc characters before the game is even out, I'll be as butthurt as it takes.

Because of the direction they decided to take the game in.

Sorry but it's going to have to be a 2

I am fairly excited about it, a 7 out of 10 I'd say. Change in art style/graphics is still my biggest worry.

7.5/10. Which is weird (as in it should be higher) because I've been combing over the main page (and some back pages, too) for every shred of detail and I preordered the game as soon as the Signature Edition was announced, and I have it so it ships day one.

I guess only a 7.5 because we haven't seen a lot of info yet and some of the things they do have me pissed.

I a waiting for more info and am not pre-ordering anything.

Reading about the changes makes me either smile from joy or frown from dissapointment.

I am curious, what kind of information do the people wanting information actually want/expect?

And I love how many people is still so naive to blindly love everything bioware throws at them without using their own judgement first. Even if is just a big hype.

7 here. But thats pretty much a maximum result from me though. Don`t get too excited about video games anymore. Getting old, I guess.

I might say 8/10. Haven't really been reading too much into it to avoid spoilers and thus the hype hasn't gotten to me that much. I'm still very much looking forward to it, just over a month to go!

Gameplay footage, like the Mass Effect combat trailers.  Some full res screenshots at max graphics settings.  Those are two issues that seem to be the largest, the fact that people haven't really been shown HOW the gameplay works..and we're yet to see any cranked graphics outside beta and low quality.

And I love when people can write in correct english.

However, if that comment is aimed at me I am not naive. I am excited, I enjoyed DA and there is nothing so far which makes me fear for DA2. Certainly, things such as 'marketing', 'lack of information' and 'being led on' do not affect my view of the game itself. If the game is bad, the game is bad. I don't think you can assume a game is bad because we don't know absolutely everything about it or because it is not being rammed down our throats.

I'm not an english native speaker. As you have awkwardly pointed out, I can't write in correct english. I could have been misunderstood then. But please, quote me saying that DA2 will be a bad game. I just told that I'm not going to get blindly carried away by the excitement just as you do.

I for one like to have it(more info) rammed down my throat. :P

Hmm...I'd say 8/10. I'm looking forward to it, but there are a few other games I'm even more excited for.

I would say a 9/10, at the moment, the only game I'm more excited about right now is Mass Effect 3 (and the hope of getting a Rome: Total War 2 some day).

Hmmm, let's see i say 7,5 because as others say there's a lot of promising games coming out this year and i already have great fun with Dead Space 2 otherwise i would have given it a 9.
