I'm pretty excited, but because of the lack of hype for this game whereas Origins had extensive character information and previews (including unvieling all companions/romances), the excitement is there knowing that its Dragon Age and by Bioware (and I'm getting the game either way), I'm more or less just waiting for the game.
Hint Bioware- At least talk more about Bethany and Carver's personality, unveil Merrill and the Blonde Mage Dude, speak of ONE possible LI besides Isabella, and maybe a few screenshots showing possible variations of Hawke's family depending on appearance. Mass Effect 2 hyped the game rather well...Origins had a lot of hype...and information...now that the game is one month away its time fans got some new information instead of just blogs and DLC and download announcements.

I have to agree with this. Some of us are just killing time writing two-bit fan fiction on these characters, some of whom are completely unconfirmed.

I don't get all the DLC hate. Don't like it, don't buy it. DAO was a great game without Shale, Warden's keep ect. I got Shale with the game but I didn't even install it the first time I played.
I don't see why the DLC would influence someone's excitement or enjoyment of the game itself.
I didn't say I hate all DLC, but the way they sell it. Look at DAO. You can play w/o dlc and it's ok. But then you meet a merchant with golem's control rod, a strange guy in your camp talking about Warden's Keep, deadly wounded soldier from Ostagar... And you can't take those quests until you buy dlc. It's very annoying. I just don't want DA2 to turn into a DLC platform, where on every crossroad and around every corner there is a guy yelling "Hey, Hawke! I have a quest for you! But first you need to buy some little add-on..."

It's bioware after all, so no matter my final impression it will probably be my favorite game of 2011.
Edit* couldn't resist using that fancy scale
- Bioware game: +5
- EA game: 0
- Dialogue wheel: -1
- Shorter than DAO: -1
- Combo system: +1
- Skill tree: +2
- So much blood: 0
- DLC: -2
=5, more or less

I was going to try this for kicks, although I've already posted, but I realized that I don't know what is meant by combo system. Also, shouldn't there be something about the graphics style? It's a bit positive or negative for a lot of people.Zjarcal wrote...

Basically, it's always seven until the installation begins. Then it rises to eight.
In this case it's six, because I'll terribly miss some RPG features. I already do, and I'm just browsing through the forums here and there, not knowing a lot about the game.

I'd say 10/10, but I've heard the phrase 'Think like a general and fight like a Spartan' so many times, I have to go with 9.5
7.5/10
I never really liked Sparta that much. I generally wanted the Athenian side to prevail and was glad when I read that Thebes defeated Sparta at Leuctra.

I enjoyed DAO and I am looking forward to DA2 but I really dislike turn they took with gameplay( but I might enjoy it) and new character design( Darkspawn look like sh*t and Quanari ridiculous with those devil horns).
Also I dislike that game doesn't happen after DAO, but during it.

DA2 starts at the fall of Lothering (during DA:O) and spans 10 years.
Therefore the majority of the game does happen after DA:O.
