3/10 - hard to get excited about a game with very little info and a development team that misrepresents the truth...

3/10--Just not that appealing yet, Even Bioware can produce a failure. Robert DeNiro has a few dud movies despite being one of the great actors of our age. No one is infallible.

10/10. Anyone one who says otherwise is part of the rebel alliance and a traitor, and shall be taken away!

(Psst.  The rebels won in the end.  There wasn't even an Endor Massacre or anything.)

Excited doesn't mean how much I expect to like it, so...

...

8/10

10/10 was for DA:O, ME1, NWN, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Alpha Protocol, Fallout 2, IWD 2, Fallout: New Vegas, every Gold Box SSI game after Pool of Radiance, Starcraft 2...

9/10 would be for ME2, Jade Empire, Dawn of War 2 and Mark of Chaos, Freedom Force vs. 3rd Reich, Dead Rising 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 3...

8/10 was where I was at for stuff like MUA 2, Fallout 3, Street Fighter IV, KotOR 2, Medieval Total War 2, Bioshock 2, Oblivion...

Excitement RARELY equals how much I'll like a game unless it represents a continuation of a series, where I kinda know what I'm getting... though almost everything that I was 10/10 excited for ended up being favorites.

4/10, I'm terrified of the battle system, everyone outside of these forums thinks it is going to be a train wreck.

But we'll see I guess.

Edit: Aka I'm renting it.

To be fair, it's probably because most people outside these forums are vastly uninformed in comparison.

Anyways, 8/10. Really excited, but I've got lots to hold me over.

Either that or they tend to be somewhat more objective in their viewpoint than a fansite ;)

As for excitment about a 6.5/10.  Some things very excited about, some things I am not.   So I find myself a little bit reserved in my outlook.  However I pre-ordered and hope my fears will be groundless and it will be a great game.

6/10 The game clearly has potential, but I haven't seen enough to convince me yet.

Alot of people are wining about not getting enough info but i think it's great because then we'll be surprised. I decided not 2 watch any of the trailers for dead space 2 because i knew i was getting it. Best game decision i ever made... besides buying BG1 back in 98 :)

Dead Space 2 was great because i knew very little about the action sequences while me2 i knew too much before i played the game

9/10. Because my excitement is usually higher further from release for some reason? Plus 10/10 should probably be reserved for those titles whose development cycle spans a lot longer in my mind. Like DAO funnily enough.

2-3 maybe. I don't often get "excited" about a game being released. If it wasn't for all the inane pre-order malarkey I would have probably waited.

With ME3 at 11/10, I'd say DA2 is about an 8/10.

Way past 10.

DA:O is one of the few games I'm actually good at and really enjoy, so needless to say, I'm stoked for the second one. Have been ever since I first heard of it...which was a while back.

I guess my history of just watching my brothers play games rather than playing them makes me easy to please but meh. Some people have just been way too critical. I'm excited, and I'm pretty convinced it will be worth my money.

8/10.
9/10 is reserved for the next great flight sim. If it ever happens.
10/10 is reserved for when Mass Effect gets a Privateer-like spinoff.

So basically as high as it can get for me.

If you went and bought Falcon 4.0, you could be reading the manual for the next four years! Every day could feel like a new and exciting game.

(May be slightly bitter that he bought a fancy joystick and hasn't found much to use it for)

IL-2 Cliffs Of Dover/Storm of War is about to be released "soon". In the meantime Ultrapack or HSFX modded IL-2 will be just fine, or vanilla 4.10 with new g-force structural damage.

Edit: By the way BioWare's Ultimate Edition of DA made me gradually leave flight sims, and just before I was about to buy a new fancy joystick. These forums have something to do about it too.

Edit: Oh Ob. Topic: 7/10 not expecting much and fearing the worst. 10/10 at best.

Usually a Bioware game has me at 10, as I'm almost never more excited for anything else.

But sadly, not this time. Not because I think DA2 will be average, in fact, I think it will be another amazing game. It is just another game I'm more excited about, Witcher 2. Sorry Bioware, someone finally dethroned you in my hypeness.

I give it a solid 9 for DA2 hype though! I still love Bioware and Dragon Age, I just want to spread the love.

Anyone spending time on the forum of an unreleased video game is obviously excited about the release of it.  Anyone who says otherwise is a liar.  The people who say they aren't excited due to lack of information are actually the most excited because those are the people who are basically hanging on BioWare's every word.

Negatives -
  • New user interface irritates me
  • Companions seem "weak" from a fighting perspective, adopting the armor system of ME2
  • Not much info to get excited about
  • Graphics seem worse than Origins
  • lack of "massive armor" from revealed screenshots (kinda important to me =p )
Positives -
  • Voiced protagonist
  • Vastly improved animations
  • 10 year ongoing storyline
  • Focusing on one pc will add depth to Hawke's character that was absent in the silent Warden
Overall - 7/10

I'm excited for the release, but I have a lot of apprehension. I would like to play the game day 1, but I feel like I have to wait a year before buying the 'whole' game (with the DLC and expansion including for the same price).
