Evidence: - Today it was confirmed I will not be getting the pre-order items with my SE. (-2)
(Pre-order items even with the SE are apparently retailer specific, my retailer is not offering them.


Please tell me this isn't true Bioware.

Sadly that's the way of the video game industry right now and how retailers compete with each other. GameStop might offer you a unique weapon when you pre-order with them and Amazon might offer you some in-game money.



The thing with the Dragon Age 2 pre-orders is that the Signature Edition was announced WAY before the pre-order items. So when you originally pre-ordered DA2 for the Signature Edition you were taking a gamble that you might not get certain pre-order items that would later be announced. It sucks but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Where did you pre-order from though? I pre-ordered mine from Amazon and I haven't been notified of that issue.

I preordered from EB Games (store) and Gamstop (online) and I'm getting it from both.

As far as I know, the only confirmed retailer that is not offering the pre-order bonus is amazon.co.uk.

The same as everybody else, the sword and shield. Same thing with EB Games (because EB Games is owned by Gamestop but sometimes don't get all the promotions).

And most/all of France retailers, I believe. For sure; amazon.fr won't offer the pre-order bonus either.

I remember when DA:O came out, a bunch of people called EA customer service and claimed they pre-ordered the game from somewhere and convinced the service rep to give them the code for pre-order bonuses. Perhaps EA will do it again if you claim to have pre-ordered it?

FYI, that's not true at all. Many (especially smaller) retailers will not be offering them, despite selling the SE originally.

No, if the retailer you ordered from is offering pre-order bonuses with the regular edition then you should be fine if you ordered the SE.

If they are not then you will need to check with the retailer directly if they are offering them. The pre-order bonuses are not included in the box.

The Lion of Orlais shield and the Fadeshear sword will be oonly available to players who pre-order Dragon Age II before launch. They are included in the Signature Edition.

No. It's for any retailer that choses not to participate in the pre-order promotion.

I called Amazon just now after reading this thread, and they told me SE does not get the pre-order items. Also, I'm in the U.S. so this isn't just amazon.co.uk either.

Hearing this just makes me all the more glad I cancelled my original EB Games pre-order and went with Amazon.ca instead. I've had issues getting my pre-order bonuses with EB Games Canada in the past, namely the original Mass Effects bonus disk.

Wow that kind of blows. I'm in the US too and ordered from Amazon.com so I guess I won't be getting it either then.

What about the people who pre-ordered before the SE that got an automatic upgrade to the SE? Do they get the bonuses?

:/ We've got conflicting stories here. Some saying that US Amazon does get the pre-order items and some saying it does not. If I don't get them for some reason you can be assured that I'll be complaining to someone until I get the items that are supposed to be included in my order.
