So, you clicked on this topic and you may be thinking, “what is Fight for the Stove?” Well, it’s a fan group that wants a few more choices in the meta-game region of mass effect. What does this mean? It just means we’d like for some cooking-related meta-games to be open, by way for a ME2 DLC or ME3.
And so now maybe you’re thinking, “Shepard isn’t a cook” or maybe “why do you guys keep making a new topic. Stop spamming and drop it.” If these are one of the two thoughts that reached your brain before you clicked and opened this topic, continue reading…

FAQ:

1. Shepard isn’t a cook. Why are you trying to force this on me?

No, shepard is NOT a cook, but that doesn’t mean he can’t cook for his squadmates who have the same tastes in cuisine. All most of us want is a decent meaningful meal that isn’t bland. Some of our ideas include seafood in case your asari squadmates aren’t hanging around. We’re also open to any other suggestions.

2. Why do you guys want this so bad?

As Albert Einstein eloquently said: “Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a better diet. “Need I say more?

3. Do you plan on turning everyone into a cook?

No, most of us would like at least shepard to have the ability to cook. We also wouldn’t mind a BRAND NEW character to try cooking. Please share your thoughts in the topic if you have new ideas.

4. Why are people so persistent to include cooking games in Mass Effect?

So many fantastic games have featured the ability to cook for your comrades - World of Warcraft’s profession, for instance. It allows better variety and a better experience overall for those who hunger for, well, some delicious delicacies.

5. Mess Sergeant Gardner already cooks on the Normandy. Why does shepard have to?

Although Gardner is a reputable cook, shepard could potentially be the next Commander in Chef, so to speak. There’s already a cooking area in the SR-2, it’s just ripe for potential masterpieces.

We’d like to keep a clean topic that stays away from cannibalism and just focuses on how we’d like this implemented. If you have any questions feel free to ask. <3

I can think of many fantasy games that include cooking.

I can't think of any science-fiction games that do.

Holy crap, that's hilarious! I love you for taking a stab at the Fight for the Love thread.

Unless, of course, you're actually serious. In which case, lolno.

I lol'd a bit.

When I first saw this, I was hoping it was a campaign to be FemShep back in the kitchen.

Well, all the squadmates are actually fasting and not interested in Shepard or anyone else's food. Fasting is totes normal and it'd be unnatural to force food onto fasting squadmates. Take your food-based political agenda elsewhere and keep food and cooking out of games!

I'll take it.

Bake Hanar Enchanted Palythoa Cookies?

Only if you enkindle it for about 45 minutes.

I should go.

i think this could work if it was well written like part of a mission or something.not just go and cook whenever you want.than again if there is a well written story to it maybe you could cook anytime you want.

Oh, great. It is 1:45 here and now I want to eat... baaaaawwwwwgggg........
At least there is an apple and I think I read somewhere recently they quicken metabolism.

And the title made me too think it's going to be about "back to the kitchen" thing.

Btw, is it really that bad with the camp you are, ahem, mimicing here? There are complaints all over the boards, over all kind of things (including complaints about people complaining), after all...

That's fair enough. I really don't see any squadmates from ME1 or ME2 having it necessary to learn cooking, it would probably feel silly. Then again, say an NPC quest(one of a less serious manner like the ice brandy or the presidium fish) could have you learn a few tips, maybe even from the mess sergeant himself. The possibilities are endless.

@Sair, want me to delete it? This wasn't meant to displease people, though I see how it could be taken that way...

Mind you, you'd have you to multiples of these cooking quests to learn what to cook for each species.

Jack Shepard never cooks, never eats, never sleeps and never goes to the toilet unless attempting to flush some batarians head down the toilet to get some information out of him DAMMIT! Ok that is a bit of a lie, he probably does all those things during the loading screens just like Jack Bauer does during breaks :P ;)

Your dreams of cooking will doom the galaxy. "Where were you when Earth fell?" "Cooking pancakes" is not a good answer!
