Regarding the Anders rumours

Afterthought: What is so terrible about people gushing over a character anyway. I have heard so many people complain about this. Why so serious?

Why would you want Fenris as a love intrest. You should want Lloyd the redcliffe bartender as a LI you could tell that guy was a womanizer( probably not a succesful womanizer)Miri1984 wrote...
Fenris isn't a love interest yet either!

But there is also a problem with those who have negative opinions, they are often not very eloquent about it.
I am open towards all outcomes, and I have the free will to dislike the overly confident opinions about the appearance of Anders.

You make a good point there. I respect opinions that differ from my own, as long as others respect my choice to disagree, but I know what you mean. I have seen people go off because someone didn’t like a character or even a specific thing about a character--which is ridiculous. However, I see nothing wrong with someone having a favorite and making that known, as long as they realize their favorite may not be everyone else’s.
Anders is probably going to be my favorite if he is in-game, though.

Any time you have a fan-heavy area, common sense says tread carefully with criticism. We're all human beings and the internet is what it is. That said, there have been... I dunno, how many? millions?... of "Alistair is whiny" or Alistair vs. Loghain type threads. If fans want an area where the character is almost always right, is that soooo egregious? I think it's pretty unfair to paint large swathes of fandom with the brush that was probably only inked up by a few individuals.Russalka wrote...

I'm pretty confident it's Anders, but I'm not an Anders fangirl. A lot of things just make sense about him being in DA2. Of course, none of us really knows.

Ha, that reminds me of some dialogue I came across in Fallout New Vegas when my character comes face-to-face once more with the man who shot her. One of the choices you can respond with after his initial comment is "I got better." Giggled for, like, five minutes straight. Yeah, I'm easily amused.
Okay, back on-topic.
You know, I can't believe there's still so much denial in this thread. Did part of BSN move to Egypt when I wasn't looking? *shakes her head* Y' all can continue to deny it if you wish, but this gal *points to herself* says Anders will be the human male mage companion. I'd link folks to my analysis of "Anders" and Anders, which I think is proof enough, but feel it'll just fall on blind eyes, so I won't waste my time.
Don't want Anders in your group? Don't recruit him. Simple enough, aye? And if he's a forced party member, deal with it or kill him. [fangirlmode]We wouldn't want his awesomeness wasted on those who can't appreciate it, anyway.

If it is Anders, do you think he will have a new voice actor?
Merril and Isabela does, so I guess its likely. The quality of the voice acting makes or breaks a character for me.
If Greg Ellis isn't "Anders'" VA, fur is gonna fly; a lot of it, actually. I've got two Persian cats, so y' know, they've got a lot of fur to spare.

...buh?
Half the reason people who are current fans of Anders like him is because of his flaws. Perfect characters are painfully dull and sweet characters can be, well, boring. Anders is an admitted commitmentphobe, probably more than a bit of a womanizer, and despite his love of freedom, can't be bothered to do anything for other mages "because it sounds hard." He seriously screwed over at least one former lover we know of (to the point that she sent him into a deathtrap) and probably killed those templars.
He will also return to help you with the darkspawn even if you let him to run and promise to tell the templars he's dead. For all his escapes, he's apparently never fought back when recaptured (or they would have killed him), and shows a concern for lives well beyond what any of the companions in the game express- such as in the woods and at the end when presented with the option to raze Amaranthine. (The reactions to the lost lives in Redcliffe, among Branka's family, the peasants who attack you in lothering... all minimal to nothing. Even the "good" Alistair and Leliana barely utter a peep.)
IMO, that makes for a fairly interesting bit of characterization, even with how shallowly Awakening delves into the companions.
And really, a lack of eloquence on the part of his detractors is hardly the fault of Anders' fans. If they can't express themselves clearly that is no one's problem but their own.

Just to be fair, I've watched a video in which Sigrun also pleads on behalf of the people of Amaranthine, and begs you to send her in alone to help if you aren't willing to do anything. That doesn't challenge your point about Anders being a good guy, but in that case I think his compassion is at least matched by Sigrun.
