First, let me tell you that I love Mass Effect. I love the storyline, the play style, Jack Wall's work on the soundtrack, the graphics, everything. It's an almost perfect package, aside from all the bugs. I purchased 1 and 2 both on the PC within a week of them coming out, Picked up ME2 a second time for the PS3 release, figuring I'd play through as a Renegade this time for fun. I also bought all the DLC for ME2 on the Playstation Network the same day I bought the game because I knew from past experience with all the Dr.Pepper codes, that I'd be getting good stuff to use in-game.

My initial impression? Almost all the old glitches and bugs from PC/360 are STILL present. (Random blurriness in scenes as well as the problems on the Estevanico, for example) These issues should have been rectified WELL before opening an entirely new market of PS3 gamers to your franchise. One would think you'd want to make a good impression.

Now there are new bugs. I hate staring at my PS3 copy of ME2 and thinking to myself,  "I shouldn't play that because I don't want to risk getting my save file corrupted." It's bad enough feeling like you wasted 2-3 hours when the power fails due to an ice storm, and you forgot to save... but 30, 40, 60 hours lost? I don't think so. Now I have a $60 box sitting in the corner and it'll probably be on sale for $40 by the time I'm able to actually play it. I have $8 worth of DLC sitting on my PS3's hard drive that I can't even get use of, for fear of losing my time spent on the game.

I saw your note about a patch being in the works, and about sending it to Sony last Friday for release. Here we are, 5 days later, and no confirmation whether it was actually sent to Sony, nothing from Sony about any sort of upcoming update for the game. Googling this stuff provides me with a ghost town of information, besides the hundreds of people complaining about the bugs.

If Bioware/Sony do not fix every single issue in due time, it will severely hurt my faith in your development team and it's very likely I'll consider just pirating a copy of ME3 when it is released instead of purchasing a bug-infested turd like I did this time. So far I've dumped roughly $200 into this franchise and gotten burned by an unfinished product on three separate occasions.

Just thought I'd let you know how myself and many, many others are feeling about your game right now.

Worse, the guys who have posted in this forum are not gone completely, they are literally avoiding this forum for one reason or another. You can find this out by going to their profiles on this very site.

BIOWARE, this isn't cute or funny, yes people will get mad if there's been a delay, but most of us will understand. Correct is better than fast, we get this. But not telling us anything while we sit and wait will NOT go over well.

Edit - Also, who the **** told yoou guys that one global save was a good idea?  Who?  I know for a fact you guys can just use normal PS3 save files, which allow multiple saves (and make corruption less of an issue).  Why didn't you?  I'll forgive this if yall quit ignoring us, but if you don't...................

You sir just totally described my feeling to this situation.

I was so excited for this game, up to the point where I even started annoying my friends
Then I get this corruption glitch 30 hours in, and even worse, no updates on this patch in the works.
Mass Effect is truly a great game, Im just sad it had to make its debut on the PS3 like this...

And I hate to say it, but they've proven you right to be angry with them.  Not corresponding at all with people on a technical support forum ,for over a week, is inexcusable.  A story or gameplay guide forum?  Sure, no obligation there, but tech support is a different story.

Bioware is doing their best to get out a patch, you just have to be patient.  You sound like a little kid who's making threats because he's not getting his way.  Pirates are nothing but self-delusional thieves.

If you read his post, this anger could have been avoided with a simple update on the patch. And I personally think he has every right to be angry, and that Bioware could be handling this situation much better than they are right now

Piracy is wrong though, I'd rather just buy other games than pirate. Still his other points are valid.

All I have to say is thank god for Gamefly.  So many games have come out that really weren't worth payig $60 for.  Not sayin ME2 isn't worth the money but with all these gltichs, bugs, errors, etc... going on..... I wouldn't pay $60 for it.

Funny they have not yet locked this thead? That is what they are good at close it down so it becomes a non-issue.

Same bugs as 12 months ago on xbox/pc ! And don't tell you guys had no idea. You guys are suppose to be the game experts , but I guess programming is not your thing.

This is the worst game I have ever played on ps3 .

I may have to cancel my preorder of DA2

We need to hurt them in their pocket book, thats the only language they will listen to.

Whilst I agree the lack of updates is unacceptable, the fact that you've said you're tempted to pirate ME3 is a bit daft to be honest. It appears to me more of a rant and therefore they're probably less likely to reply to it. Hell, I wrote a nice e-mail to GG asking them to remove the save lock for Killzone 2 because I lost my progress when my old 60GB died, but I got no response.

However, I do agree with the bulk of what you put, these 360/PC bugs/glitches (whilst I have really experienced any), really shouldn't be present.

Pirating is a little extreme, though I completely understand your frustration.

And that is precisely why I even bothered mentioning pirating. I purchase games I love. Games I don't love or developers I dislike, I pirate their games. I hurt them in the wallet so that maybe they'll think twice before raping mine again.

If you put out a quality game, you get my money. If you put out a half-baked, half-developed, bug-ridden mess, then guess what? You're on my list until you prove yourself again.

I have not actually had the save bug happen to me :D and i have finished the game twice now. But i do get alot of sound delay in cut scenes not the voice acting, except when i go to get the Reaper IFF and then for some reason Shepard and Joker are delayed. Also when i start a new game i dont keep my heavy weapons like it says.

I know these are not major issues but it is still annoying.

My game is with the loading screen freeze bug and still unplayable. I bought it at launch and I get a $60,00 paperweight.

How long we will wait for the damn patch ? Bioware, you lost one more fan.

This is exactly my point about pirates being self-delusional and self-righteous.  I can understand everyone's frustration waiting for the patch, but if you want to hurt them in the wallet, then you simply don't buy the game.

If you didn't like Xboxes back in the day because they were prone to red-ring of death, that doesn't give you the right to steal one from the store.  You simply wouldn't choose to purchase it.  Just because you're less likely to get caught committing piracy doesn't make it any less wrong than flat out stealing something from a store.

Who exactly is self-righteous? Pirating hurts developers. Plain and simple. You put out a known turd, and pirates have already put it out there for free so you can see what a turd it is before you decide to dump your hard-earned money into it. How are you supposed to "just not buy" something if you don't even know its quality? I'm talking try-before-you-buy here, not flat out stealing. To use your analogy, it's like trying out an xbox at E3 only to discover that three out of four of them have red-ringed. THEN, you "just don't buy it", because you know it's crap. Plus, with a game, if it sucks and is full of bugs and the developers are sitting on a pile of money ignoring people that actually paid for it (like I did with every Mass Effect thus far), well, you "just uninstall it".

Did you not see my OP about shelling out over $200 on this franchise only to be burned every single time? Do you see the "CE Owners" banner in my sig? Yeah, I got suckered into thinking I would get "Exclusive DLC" on that one, when in reality every whiner that heard about that pretty much ruined that, and so the DLC went to everyone. I've spent money that I actually EARNED and gave it to these yahoos that suckered me into believing that they were EARNING what was in my pocket.

They've duped us all into thinking that they actually care, and the sad reality is that they do not.

I'm not a pirate. I support the things I believe in unless they come back to bite me. Then I bite back.

Rent the game first? Wait for a few months and buy it when the price is reduced? Don't pre-order for a pointless bauble like an exclusive gun, wait til a couple weeks after release and read up on how the game performs on this very forum. There are many ways to avoid getting burnt and they all require at least a very little bit of patience.

"Every Mass Effect thus far"? If you really bought ME1 and 2 for the 360 and then spent money for ME2 for PS3, then you indeed wasted $70 no matter which way you cut it.

There have been several games that have come out that weren't worth a full $60. Fable III and Fallout: New Vegas (until the recent patch) come to mind. So taking this approach is much more logical than pre-ordering a game. Especially from a company you feel has burned you multiple times.

And if BioWare didn't care, I don't think they would be working on a patch at all. Yes, they should give updates. But I think with the number of people that are criticizing them and calling them crap, accusing them of being uncaring and incompetent, then that would make you want to avoid this section of the forum too if you had to deal with it.

I havent ran into any major problems like mentioned on the forums. But now that i heard them, i problay will, always happens to me that way. But i got through almost 2 game plays, only one complete and i deleted the other one. Now i am actually working on the second go through. But i am patiently waiting for the patch since i heard most of the problems are with the import.

So your solution is to steal?  There are more rational solutions than becoming a criminal.

Simply buy another game since it's clear you don't want this series anyway.

I'm not going to get into a flame war about this. The developers should be updating their customers on promised progress, plain and simple. If there are no updates, the customers will get progressively more and more angry. I don't intend to steal anything. I really *want* Bioware to care about their customers. I've already stated I've dumped over $200 into this franchise and haven't pirated a single Bioware title yet. However, if developers such as Bioware, DICE, Treyarch, Infinity Ward continue to rake in money and leave their customers hanging it may make a lot of people, including myself, reconsider their stance on pirating games.
