Dwarf Origin put into DA2

That in mind, will we see less references in DA2 for those origins, or is it equal across the board?
The only reason I'm asking is that I'm making several new profiles with DA2 a month away, and it would save me many hours of gametime if I knew Dwarves weren't getting equal treatment.

Well different origin's were placed in all the default storyline's for the people who weren't importing.Sammyjb wrote...
We likely won't see any reference to any origin, except perhaps the mage origin as they have the same last name.
So I believe that it's VERY fair to assume that your origin story will be referenced.
I was just wondering if Dwarves were largly overlooked due to the lack of Dwarf Wardens.

Gaider said himself that they wouldn't even consider 'never making dwarf origins again' just because they were on the minority. Does that solve your fears?

How would they reference your origin beyond saying something like "the warden was a dwarf noble who was exiled"
Surface dwarves are directly affected by the events in Orzammar. Say, if another casteless dwarf who was previously banished was declared a Paragon, wouldn't people notice?
That might even but a damper on the kalna support.

Gaider has also mentioned that many features in DA2 weren't considered because they would be details that the majority of players wouldn't even see (i.e. Strictly gay companion romance)
I'm just scared that my dwarf will walk the same road as the above example.

I seem to forget, was it only the races mentioned or their actual origins? Considering each race has 2 origins to choose from.

Dalish Elf, Dwarf Noble, and for the last one, I think everyone just "assumes" it's the human noble.packardbell wrote...

If we were in Fereldan, most definitely. In the Free Marches, with their own issues, I don't think they really care what race the guy who killed the archdemon was.

Hopefully. The game could only be made better by not wasting zots on such a diminutive demographic.stephen1493 wrote...
So it was "announced" some time ago that only 5% of Dragon Age players carried through with a dwarven origin.

I'm pretty sure we will get a reference to the Dalish Warden's origin since we are actually visiting her/his clan + Merill is a companion.

this too. Except probably nothing more than, "it is a shame, 3 of our children leaving us in a year."

Tales were sung of Garahel, the last vanquisher of the Blight, for 400 years.
A Blight brought down wouldn't exactly sprout apathy among the masses.

Isn't Fenris gay?
Besides, you are not a feature.

Word would take long to reach the Free Marches. If we did hear it, it wouldn't be more than about three years into the story. Plus, this was downplayed as a Blight due to Loghain. This Blight was done with within a year. Plus, if Alistair struck the final blow (or Loghain) why would people even mention the Warden?

If by three years into DA2, you meant soon after the Blight was quelled, I would agree.
You must remember that if you made the OGB that Orlesian Wardens had already crossed into Ferelden and were questioning Alistair/Loghain over why no one died.
Also, The free Marches aren't that far from Ferelden. It's just to the north of Amaranthine.

so in other words playing a dwarf is useless, but playing the other races you may be refer to like the dalish elf by Merril?
If Dwarves will get less references due to them being dwarves.

I concede begrudgingly
I don't want to build myself up for too much of a reference, but I don't expect anything besides a passing mention by a gossip.

Once you stop seeing it as "importing my character from DAO" and think of it as "importing the world from DAO" you'll probably be more relaxed about the whole character transfer. There probably won't be many origin references in DA2. Guessing!
This is what I'd like for the franchise. The last game really focusing on what you have created. Oh and Rinpoche, it's the hotlink guru. I got temp-banned on my other account :innocent:
