femShep doesn't need to wiggle or walk like a highborn lady, but it would be nice if she didn't walk and sit like an ape.

This! I cringe every time she sits down when visiting Aria <_<

How she walks aside, it was nice to see Female Shepard has decent legs. All ME females are in catsuits or floor length dresses. More leg in ME3!

I had heard the walking/running problems stemmed partly from the addition of the cover system. However, I'm not sure why it should matter. Your normal animations and your fight-cover animations should be separate.

That also doesn't explain the silly limp, since you'll only see that when not in combat...

I think the only way they could've made it worse is if they'd given Shepard the same movement animation as poor ol' Joker - as it is, it's not THAT different!

Quit complaining! It's the future. Men and women walk alike, humans can survive sleeveless and without helmets in a vacuum, Oh and it is rude to remove any head gear before drinking, kissing, or making any facial gesture that is otherwise impossible to perceive behind said head gear.

Judging by the default image, there are not that many generations in between. Might even be one grandfather.

This makes FemShep a bit more tomboish. Well, she kinda has to be with her role and all

Why? It doesn't affect any other character in the game. Aria's got an aggressive leadership position too, and moreover, she's the leader of a group whom one would expect had even less tolerance for a woman not rough around the edges. Yet she is undeniably feminine, trading none of said femininity for the sake of command.

There are female soldiers all over the game. The enemy Vanguards who are women don't have this issue. Neither does Ashley, and she's more button-down by the book soldier than Shepard is. In fact, the robots in the game have more fluidity in walking and running movement than Shepard does, and they have no gender to aspire to at all.

FemShep walks like Cuba Gooding Jr. in Boyz in the Hood.

No, this was simply not given the importance it deserved, nor the importance required to address it and do it right. It's not a plot device.

Okay okay, I get your point. Not that I have anything against tomboish girls

You all know Miranda/Samara/Jack all share that hunking over animation when walking right? It's not just femShep.

Play Miranda's loyalty mission look at her walking at the end of it. She even has her arms in the ape position.

That said I want the walks fixed across the board. Dude Shep looks retarded. Fix him please BW. Fix the animations. I'm sick of them looking like buffons.

And no BW I don't want FemShep swishing. Her walking like she did in ME1 is fine.

Edit: And for the love of all that is sacred FIX THAT FREAKY NECK TWIST! It's distubing as all hell!

Looks like Shep belongs in a damn horror movie.

LOL!!!! What is "The Ape Position"?!?!

I didn't know apes had an official position!

I want my own position too. And the one I do where my head is up my butt doesn't count... :?

Ape position is when they're arms are oddly positioned like someone flexing but...they're fist isn't clenched and their shoulders are slightly hunched. Believe me once you start noticing it it gets irritating. :pinched:

Nope just what I call it beause that's the first thing that came to mind.

Well can't help you there.

You know, now that you mention it, they need to fix one more thing that keeps on driving me crazy.

On Illium, when you set up that one Asari illegal arms dealer and she's walking away listening to whatsherface special agent girl, she waves while her head is turned all the way around backwards, and doesn't bump into anything.

Now I need a night light to sleep. It must stop.

Strange that they didn't just port over the ME1 walk animations for male/female Shepard...

And now my standard opinion towards the animations in ME2: ME1 animations ---------> lightyears pass ---------> ME2 animation. It's a sad fact and I never got why Bioware got it worse compared to the prequel. Walking, running, stopping, turning...it was like a flawless and fluid dance in ME1. But not in ME2...maybe the Collectors took it. -.-

I blame Miranda and the rest of Cerberus medical team for putting our Sheps back together wrong, or maybe TIM for letting them use low grade equipment, or it chould be couse Wilson didnt do the numbers right.:pinched:

No, no, no, they were just doing what the Illusive man told them. Shepard got the weird gait after being injured when Sovereign fell on him/her at the end of ME1, and it became a visible Symbol of humanity's sacrifice. Therefore  when the Cerberus team were told to bring back Shepard exactly as they were before they died, the limp had to be included. :D

Lucky you, if you could unsee it in the first place.

It's that obvious, although I wouldn't call it ape position. Its more of a sailor's walk or of someone having spent days on horseback.

But sitting down is obviously strictly unisex male based and is most obvious in the Aria scene. Aria sits rather elegantly, whilst Shep - well, seeing is believing.
