Just like the geth viewed the quarians as walking platforms, quarians viewed them as machines.

Actually not, and therein lies the root moral problem with the Quarians. They tried to exterminate the Geth precisely because they realized they had gone beyond being merely machines and become sentient.

Well yeah, but what I meant was, even though geth gained sentience quarians still treated them like machines and tried to shut them down. They didn't view them as "life" and didn't realize that killing that life would be genocide.

According to US, they are. Who are we to judge them by their choice in morals?

Morality is pretty straightforward and concrete in most cases, especially when it comes to genocide.

It depends on your choice in morals.

What about the Quarian colonies? The Geth overran those.

According to what source? As near as I can tell that is merely your own assertion. I can find no mention of the Geth attacking a single Quarian colony during the war. Please post your source, or at least a link. Thx.

Thanks. Okay, that's one science outpost that fell to a Geth attack. Got any others? And even if we assume, for the sake of argument, that something similar happened at other Quarian colonies, what about it? Where were you trying to go with this?

When your "computer" starts asking you questions like "Do I have a soul?" and "What is my purpose?", how can you NOT see that it has become self aware and sentient?

I don't think there's any mention of others, though that does not mean that Haestrom is the only one. You asked for a source, and I gave you a source.

Again the Quarians attacked 98% of the time. This was one of the few Geth attacks within the 2%, i fail to see your reason.

I was asked to give some proof that the Geth did attack colonies. That is proof.

Ugh. They were at war with the quarians? Why shouldn't they attack their colonies? And your source still doesn't prove anything beyond that fact that the Geth attacked some quarian-controlled worlds. Which shouldn't be surprising considering they were fighting for the continuation of their race.

Haestrom was lost to the Geth during the Morning War. That was BEFORE the Reapers contacted the Geth.

IHow are the Geth a race? They are a Quarian creation, not a race.

They are self-aware, they are a race. Like I said earlier: The codex even list them as a non-council race.

In the event that they are, they are still just the Quarians creation.

The game says they are a race, therefore they are a race.

So what if the Quarians created the Geth? They're a race and the Quarians have no authority over the them.

If they are not a race then why are you trying to condemn them for killing so many Quarians? If they are, as you now assert, nothing more than a Quarian creation and NOT a race, then by your own (new) logic the Quarians killed themselves with their manufacturing incompetence.

The Quarians don't view them as one, so it's disputed.

They are also a creation. How come the Creator can't control it's creation?

Because the Geth are sentinent beings.

That's like asking why a parent can't control their 24 year old child.

We are no longer talking about the "condemning" thing, at least for the moment. The Quarians killing themselves with their "manufacturing inompetence"? That could be said.

A child is born sapient. The Geth weren't.

But at the time of the killing both groups were sentinent.

So which is it? Are the geth sentinent creatures and the Quarians attempted to commit genoicide. Or are the Geth merely machines and the Quarians killed themselves?

Edit: for no reason at that considering they were no longer breaking the law if the Geth weren't sentinent.

I said they don't view them as a race. They do admit that they became sentient.
