I own and played Origins on an old computer so if I buy Awakenings, can I play a brand new character or do I need to play Origins again? I have my old computer in the garage but not sure how I could transfer the files (and which files I would need to transfer) as I am not too computer savvy. Any help appreciated. thanks in advance.
Can you have a brand new character in Awakenings?

You can start a new character for Awakening.

Install both the game and the expansion on the new computer, then locate your save files (Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Characters), simply copy them over, and it sohuld work.

I couldn't decide which to do when I started playing Awakenings...but I ended up Importing my Warden from DAO & was kind of happy I did...
You can play it either way, though...there is something to be said for starting a new Warden, but a lot of little things refer to Events from Origins.

It would be fun to do both and compare. :-)

Exactly what I intend to do in my Second Playthrough
I did think it was more than a bit trite the way it was handled since my 1st playthrough I decided to make the "Ultimate Sacrifice" and it turned out to have NO effect.

Hah! I won't be trying that with my sacrtificed character! Still on my first time on Awakening - an imported character who survived the battle - but I will definitely try making an Orlesian Warden Commander to see what the default settings are!

At some point, I'll have to try an Orlesian warden. I always import from Origins and have my wardens around lv 24 and pimped out in the best gear from Origins and with plenty of money from the start.

I've never tried an Orlesian Warden (as of yet) because I always want to continue the story of my character. It will be interesting to see how people react to the new Warden when the old one is dead.

No. You either import your DAO warden or start over as an Orlesian warden.dougie336 wrote...
