On topic: There was a hole.

Off topic: I get my news from all the major outlets, and try to get it from the source when I can.

None of them are objective, all omit pertinent facts, and I've seen nearly all of them add crap to make things seem like something they're not.

My advice is learn to differentiate between fact, opinion, and speculation.

On topic: The whole thing seemed horribly cheesy in my opinion, even cheesier than the Jacob's infamous "heavy risk... but the priiiiiize" quote.

Off topic: This "violent rhetoric" is nothing but a load of crap devised by the usual suspects in an attempt to have the opposition removed. You couldn't pay me to watch MSNBC.

Conjecturing here.

But from what I can figure on my own 'human' desires and whether or not we can apply that to quarian psychology...

Quarians, based on Tali's behaviors and the existence of a nerve-stimulating suit software, have about the same degrees of sexual energy comparable to humans. They have developing feelings, love is extended to physical stimulation and they masturbate.

So in considerations of the design of their environmental suits, being that the longterm application of its design was meant to be lifelong and that any research into sociological needs were addressed.... they probably implemented hatches or separate openings for sexual penetration; which makes sense too if they ever need to get rid of waste.

Whether or not I could say Tali isn't as "weak as we think" depends entirely on how far we went in 'intimacy'.

The biochemical changes to tali's health from allergic reactions, immune defenses and viral/bacterial infections are dependent on various factors:

-What is the surface area of skin exposed?
-What was the time elapsed during exposure?
-Can we assume both partners were clean?
-Is the Quarian sexual response the same for humans?
-What fluids are involved?
-The allergic reactions to cross-amino fluids, how does the human body react to it? How does the quarian?

Tali's addition to bolstering her immune system and biochemical resilience through herbal supplements, antibiotics and other boosters would probably have been the determining factor in her surviving sexual intercourse through traditional means.

But realize that a sterile environment (Normandy Ship) and an improved immune, bio defense (tali's precaution) and the reality being that we did not see how far sexual contact went means the intimate situation between Shepherd and Tali can not truly represent the reality of the Quarian's pre-existing immune system condition.

I don't get it.

Fox News and others get all puffed up about a half-second of side-boob in ME1, but throw the same side-boob in a movie and it gets PG-13 slapped on the side without so much as a whimper.

Personally, it speaks to BioWare's capabilities. Sexuality and Sensuality are two different things, and despite being fairly conservative in their visuals, the entire seen was exceedingly sensual.

It's the unfortunate state of this nation that not enough people can tell the difference, so it's okay if starlets walk around in thong bikinis, but heaven forbid we start injecting emotion into an intimate session.

BioWare, if you choose to pursue a similar vein in ME3, I hope you won't be swayed by the over-abundance of ignorance present between the two. I appreciated the crafting of the scene greatly, and look forward to further derivatives of the artists.

Lemme just say one thing.

BioWare, Please ignore this Fox news BS about overly sexual/sensual love scenes.

Mass Effect is slapped with a M rating for a reason.
17+ (or 16+ in Europe)
M means Mature, meaning our whole world wont come tumbling down if we see some very nice Asari bluebs =]

If the media doesnt want kids or anyone seeing it (which is alittle communist for my taste), that's the parent's job, not BioWares.

And for christs sake, you saw an ass and side boob in ME1. nothing full frontal in any way...

Obviously Tali and Shepard didn't go through all that crap to get Tali's suit open just to kiss. Bioware just didn't want to finally show us what a Quarian actually looks like, hopefully they're saving that for ME3.

EDIT:
It didn't leave so much lacking to avoid controversy. If that was the case every other "love scene" would have been just as conservative. But this obviously wasn't the case with Miranda, and probably isn't with Kelly or Jack (haven't gone there yet).

It wasn't for role play purposes. We can make up whatever we want about the game, we can close our eyes and pretend whole scenes didn't even happen. If they did wan't some in-built concessions to our imagination, all the love scenes would have left just as much to be imagined by the player. Besides, what douche would want to leave it at a kiss? And what dummy would go through all the trouble of unsuiting a quarian for a kiss? Not the Quarian in question or Shepard. Not any Quarian for that matter.

Anyway, I'm not buying the whole Quarians lost their immune system from living on sterile ships premise. Doesn't make any sense, why would they sterilize their ships anyway? And even if they did, a ship can only ever be as sterile as the individuals on it. And all animals are breeding grounds for microbes, literally. Both harmless and otherwise. You can't separate animals from germs, it's just not possible. In fact alot of times animals depend on symbiotic microbes that can cause disease under special circumstances. Sterilizing an entire species to the point that its immune system fails species wide is not only impossible. But it wouldn't make any sense for anyone to try to do it in the first place. I just ignore this massive departure from logic for the most part.

I suppose people can pretend their character just made out with Tali if they have hang-ups about sex. But the dialogue and scene clearly implied that more than just kissing went on. All of the romances except for Samara end in a sex scene. I'm suprised it even had to be asked what went on after the fade to black.

Tali fainted when Shepard took off her mask, that's why the whole screen faded to black. She woke up in the medical bay with a fever and severe allergic reaction.

But it was totally worth it.

Seriously though, they probably did it. Tali said her suit has sectional seals. Clearly she unsealed the relevant sections so Shepard could... you know...

Park his Normandy in her trunk.
