What would be the ideal difficult moral choice you would like to see in the next Mass Effect or in any future Bioware game, or anyother game involving choices? And why?

In my opinion, the first one is clearly the harder one but I wouldn't like to see that in BioWare games and especially not in Mass Effect 3 because it will be annoying. So I'll stick to wiping an entire race.;)

um, hello? mass effect 2 you have the moral choice to destroy the heretic geth or to re-program them

OT;  you can only save one of the following two planets: earth or some other planet with a way higher population

save your own rrace, or save much more aliens

I have to say that I find choices like 'sacrifice your LI/homeplanet for the greater good' painful, but hardly morally dfficult (provided we're speaking about a fictional universe, of course).

when the reapers actually turn up and start looking for the little human that has caused them so much grief, do you point at conrad and say he did it or not.

As a fan of the series that praised the story lines for not making Earth the center of the universe in regards to importance to the overall story, this is not even a hard choice. I'm serious. I'd let Earth be destroyed without a moment's hesitation, and I'm an all out Paragon player. Mass Effect is a big universe with a big picture that doesn't focus solely on the human race. Having Earth turn into the center of the universe like all the other cliché scifi stories will only make Mass Effect more forgettable.

Any choice involving curing the Genophage. I was really relieved when I learned I could keep the pre-cure data on Mordin's loyalty mission without using it. I'm still trying to figure out which choice fits me better.

Anyway. I would also say that anything that involves selecting which world I need to save would be really hard to choose. For example, I wouldn't know what to do if I had to save Thessia or the salarian's race homeworld.

Hear! Hear! I let Earth go boom as well. Sure I would drop to my knees and scream at the sky but I'd happy that Mass Effect when the distance and downplayed Humanity

To be honest, I hope there isn't a really agonizing choice in the game.

Virmire was ok: two gung ho marines wanted to make the sacrifice - classic decision.

But sacrificing a character that you developed a relationship with over 3 games or watch millions of people die horribly? Oh come on! That's just emotional r a p e.

Actually in my case, the Geth Heretic question was pretty much I could have hoped for. I do still have no valid way to answer said situation in a way I would deem justified in my own terms. If they can top that, by all means, give it to me, though I can not imagine a specific deal right now.

This. I just played this part of the game again last night and have been contemplating the Genophage ever since. There really isn't a clear answer to this one.

As for LI versus saving the galaxy...? I don't know. It is a decision where I already know what I would decide. I wouldn't like it...but I know. It's not a "hard" decision (though the aftermath is hard to deal with). I hope the brains at BioWare are more creative than that.

I think Bring Down the Sky had the hardest choice in ME1, with Legion's loyalty mission being the hardest in ME2. In neither case was either option clearly good or evil. Each option came with a distinct set of advantages and disadvantages. Each also illustrated that paragon and renegade both have their strengths and weaknesses as approaches to moral decision-making.

Wasn't there a thread about this recently? anyway oh well, It would be tough for me to let Shep or his love interest die in favor of saving the galaxy. I'd rather have Shep and his love interest die Romeo and Juliet style bwahahaha! >:)

That wasn't even hard. Just choose paragon option to the top right. Easy. Hard choices are like Ashley or Kaidan and Bring down the sky

I think it's likely that the climax of the game will bring about a situation where Shepard has to make the ultimate sacrifice as the most virtuous end. This would be interesting, and it would give the chance for a powerful final cutscene showing the lament of all of those he's touched the lives of personally, as well as tossing indicators for the bright future of the galaxy that has been ensured because of Shepard's sacrifice.

However, as far as the most morally ambiguous decisions, it'll probably be the little things.  Stuff like giving the pregnant woman advice on genetic therapy or returning the corpse of a fallen soldier to her husband despite the medical advances it could provide were tough for me.

Really?  Even in only a 'game' I wouldn't be able to let earth be destroyed.   I've been Paragon my entire playthrough....but this would be one renegade decision I would make...damn the consequences.

Hardest one Ive had so far was in ME2 and I think it will be harder than any in ME3 (ill give reasons). (SPOILERS BELOW - Ill use general terms to limit the possiblity of spoiler, but those that finished game know what I'm talking about.)

Choice: Whether to keep or destroy an item or keep it. The choice could have drastic implications on ME3. The fact that we dont know what those implications maybe makes the choice that much more difficult. Additionally, everyone on your team gets pissed at you for one of the choices which may also have implications in ME3 (especially if you romanced a particular party member).

The Reapers launch a two-pronged attack while you're in the Terminus systems; they attack Earth and the Citadel en force.

Which one do you save?

Do you preserve galactic civilization or your own species?

Forever endanger Humanity's position in galactic society, or leave a handful of survivors to be praised for their sacrifice?

That would be a good one to me.

There are billions of people living on Earth, only millions on the Citadel. I think the choice is clear.

I did have to think about it for a couple of minutes before the population factor decided it for me, though, so good one.
