Isn't the song in Afterlife on the soundtrack? That means it counts.

You don't think there is a difference between music that is being played in-game and can be heard by your character and all of the other NPCs and music that is purely to enhance a scene/character/location's mood/atomosphere, etc?  Yea.... ok

What?

Isn't ALL of the music in Mass Effect for that reason?

There is a difference between the two though.  In afterlife and those other clubs, Technoish music was being played because that was what you'd expect to hear playing in that kind of environment.  If we went to a dingy bar on earth and techno music was playing on a jute box or a live band was performing, I would have a problem with it, since I would expect rock music playing in that situation.

What I don't want to hear is rock music playing during a cutscene showing the normady flying to the last epic battle since its just completely inconsistent with the rest of the series soundract, and the overall atmosphere/mood/tone that they were trying to create

Okay, with the title change of this thread, I can actually say I wouldn't mind some rock music in ME3. That being said though, I so far like the music in ME1 and 2 and see no reason why they should change the genre for the soundtrack.

I also like Bows and Arrows but don't think they should add it as a weapon choice in ME3.

Well then your wrong!! You can't make a comment on Bows and Arrows if your not a Bow and Arrowist! ()

Rock in ME3 would feel completely out of place to me given how much the previous two games have relied on the soundtrack to help create the ambiance and Blade Runner feel of the galaxy. I don't like techno but it didn't feel so far removed from the rest of the soundtrack that it jarred me out of it, rock would do that.

That's basically what I was saying.  I would like rock music in it simply because i like rock music but given the soundtrack from 1 and 2 it would feel out of place.

That's a situation I would like to see rock music in. I'm not saying the WHOLE game should be rock.

I know I was agreeing. I just wanted to amuse myself with the Bow and Arrow comment then realised it would look like I'm trolling you if I didn't add my agreement. It all went a bit wrong and misguided to be honest. Kinda like a microcosm of this thread.

You are Trolling man...
You are slowly with each comment directing more aggression at me & adding less & less to the conversation...

Come on now, let's all be respectful of one another here. The OP is justified to have his opinion. I actually find this thread to be interesting.

The "microcosm" comment can be seen as a hinted attack on the thread.

What is the point of attacking the OP anyway?

I understand Trolling when its done well but spending time attacking someone on their own forum is pretty lame...& just destroys the conversation.

& what did this add to the conversation?
Saying you hate Dave once is enough.
Why would you hang around a forum that talks about a band that you hate & have no interest in other than to Troll?
I can just picture you sitting there waiting for me to make another comment so you can bash it...Please stop.

Not really. Techno, dance, club etc. the kind of music that's in Mass Effect. You get the point, right?

No one attacked the OP they disagreed with it and you started trying to invalidate all of our opinions. No one was
talking to you either, I was agreeing with Strangely Brown while making a joke about your musician comment. Also microcosm of this thread was said at a time when one guy was arguing with Piecake while essentially saying the same thing and two people were trying to decide whats more "RAWK!!" rock or rock n roll?

If you can't accept people disagreeing with you or reacting badly when you talk down to them then don't make threads. If you are going to keep making threads then accept not everyone will agree with you and they have a right to say so. Also no one is even arguing in here, lighten up.

Actually, I was taking part in this conversation.  Between your posts about trolls and you yourself trolling your own forum I am having a hard time finding meaningful thigs to say.

At anyrate, music is personal taste type of thing.  You can't please everyone.  I liked the music in ME1 and 2, you obviously didn't .  It seems silly to change the genre of music simply because some people didn't like it.  It would change the whole atmosphere of the game as it has been established.

Oh i accept others opinions just fine , infact thats why i make threads,Although i dont like when people like you come on my forums & start a new conversation about "whats wrong with the OP".instead of adding something relevent to the topic of the actual thread.so you & brown give it a break eh?

I still think Dave Grohl should have a voice cameo in Mass Effect 3.
