Hello, please take the time to read about this slight bug, which may make you wish you acted otherwise:
http://social.biowar...7/index/4719271

Now I would like to confirm that this bug isn't only hapening with PC and X-360 version of the game, but also PS3. If any of you happy PS3 players is playing an easy playthrough or normal (as long as it is not insanity, because you'll bite your lips afterwards...), what you have to do is confirm that the bug is there by *not* asking Liara about Samara, do the Lair of the Shadow Broker pack and then try to get Samara's informations on the terminal. I ADVISE that you should have a save (not a quick save...) *just* BEFORE you ask Liara about the Lair of the Shadow broker.

I don't get it... You have to do recruit Samara and Thane first THEN play the DLC? Because I think I asked about both Thane and Samara and i was still able to recruit them both
I haven't done the DLC mission yet because the Shadow Broker DLC has a bug where a lot of people lost all their saves....

No, he means that if you don't ask about Samara or Thane before you ask Liara about the Shadow Broker, the two become unrecruitable.

I don't remember having any issues with info about Samara/Thane or asking about the Shadow Broker. I'm probably one of the very few who has had no problems with Mass Effect 2 whatsoever, not counting the very obvious glitches like audio desync.

Actually, the issue only happens with Samara, when you don't ask Liara about Samara , tell her about the Shadow Broker, make all the mission and then, go back to Ilum where Liara used to be and use her terminal to get informations about Samara. This particular bug is that whenever you "get information about Samara", you aren't able to do so, making-it impossible to recruit her AND finish the game.

same bug in the 360 version, which Bioware hasn;t fixed. Notice why I said not ro rely on them people? This is a major bug that they promised to fix for months now

They never promised to fix this one - unlike the PS3 bug.

Are you 100% sure? I recall reading posts saying they acknowledged it and were working on a fix. Wouldn't it be just as worse to be aware of the bug, and simply ignore it? And please don't tell me that they're so blind as to not have heard of it in these last 5 months.  Some support...

Perhaps the bug is unfixable without recalling tons of DLC. And I'm positive, a forum post gets the Bioware stamp next to it when they have acknowledged and left a message on it.

Maybe they think the post is warning enough for other  players

It's sad what people say to defend a company with poor support.  Don't let me stop you from your bioware love affair.

The truth is, and you can't revise history on this: It's a game breaking bug, that they ignored for 5 months now. Not everyone goes to these forums to know to avoid it. Absolutely no excuses can be made about this, none.

You can't finish the game?  It's not just that you can't recruit Samara?

Not recruiting Samara means you can't finish the game I think. That's the impression I got from hopefuls waiting for a patch since their only other option would be to start the whole game over.

Wow.  that's one big glitch.  I thought it meant they just couldn't recruit Samara, which would be sad, but not unbearable for one play through.  In fact, it would be interesting if you heard on the news that an Assari had killed some of the police who tried to  hold her for more than 24 hours. But to totally stop the progress of the game, that is just not a good thing.

Yup that's it, you can't go through the realay ontil you get her...

By the way, they didn't say anything about getting anything done. They've been very evasive, when they answered at all.

Evasive and Bioware support seem to go hand in hand..

Have you guys tried going back to Liara's terminal in Illuim? Last time I checked her terminal it has information on Samara / Thane, checking it might allow you to go forward on recruiting her. Just a suggestion, since I never accidently engage the DLC w/o asking about those two.

That is exactly the problem. Whereas you can get the informations about Thane, you can't gt anything about Samara, the screen goes back to the game, the quest isn't updated and you still can't speak to the Police Officer (She keeps on rambling "Nothing to declare? Move along...")

So, um, long story short, don't engage in this particular DLC until *after* you've recruited everyone?

No, just ask Liara about Samara and Thane BEFORE completing the Shadow Broker mission. You don't even have to recruit them first, just ask Liara about them first. It takes like, 2 seconds, then you're in the clear.

I think I'm in the clear, anyway, because I've got those two recruited and loyal.

Whew, ok I will have to remember this. I asked about Thane before doing the Shadow Broker since I decided to do it earlier this time around. I almost started the mission first but clicked on Liara's terminal to see what was in it and it was Samara's info.

I guess I will see tomorrow if I'm in the clear.

Whoa this is a bug glitch, luckily I've just been on illium and I've recruited thane and samara before I've asked about the shadow broker. I'll make sure I do a manual save before starting the shadow broker mission.

Is that confirmed for PS3? Or is it just an enquiry as to whether the PS3 has this same bug as PC and Xbox? Has anyone verified this bug on the PS3 version?

The first post says that the bug also happens on the PS3.

Nope, that's not what I said in "the first post". I did ask if it was a PS3 bug, that's all. However, other people seems to have reported that the bugger's happening to them on PS3. And I would like to add that the bug only applies for Samara, and NOT Thane (unless anyone reports otherwise that is).
