Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't care about CC in the demo. Default FemHawke is smexy enough for me.

I think both of the Default Hawke's look great, so I don't mind the lack of a CC either.

I'm actually glad I don't have to play as my Hawke the first time through. This will really be a demo. I'm not going to play it for story purposes. In fact, I might just go all evil, since my first character probably won't do so.

I'll probably get the demo, just because. And I really don't care that there's no character creator included. It's meant to give us a sneak peek at the game pretty much and nothing more. Fill in the gaps til the game launches a couple weeks later. Kind of like an aperatif prior to having dinner. :D

Yeah same, being able to just get a handle on the gameplay mechanics fist hand, hopefully see character skills and all that instead of reading about it on a wiki page trying to piece things together like I did with DAO and not actually have to 'care' about the char with all my silly testing. Gonna be awesome.

Except for the part where I'll probably be wanting to play even 'more' for the 2 weeks going up to the eventual release which will be painful but whatever, I can deal with that.

I'm simply just not going to get the demo - I don't want to see the story from the perspective of someone who isn't my Hawke. It'll be like watching spoilers on youtube.
The demo is pretty much the first part of the full game, so whether or not you play the demo, you are going to play that section eventually.
Er, yes. That was kind of my point. I want to play that section as a Hawke I make.
The intention of the demo is NOT to get you started as your own Hawke
anyway, the purpose is for people to get a feel for the gameplay.
I get this too, again, though, this doesn't interest me. I also have to see story spoilers, however slight, from someone who won't eventually be my Hawke, so it takes away from something I already care little about.

I don't mind the lack of character creator.

I prefer getting to play the game, experience a few locations and interact with characters.

Have we heard if there is a cc? Is this just a PC thing or is there a cc for consoles too?

There isn't a CC in the demo, you'll have to wait till the game comes out.

I just don't understand the point of no CC, as that would be a huge draw and would establish to people not familiar with the franchise that you can create your own character, well, in the looks department at least. For most of us on the forums or diehards beyond these hallowed digital walls it's not that big of a deal, but for people who aren't up to date it seems sort of, strange to decide not to include it.

I know 3 people in real life that didn't even know you could have Shepard be a female until I told them, a couple more online as well. This seems like another case where Bioware is going the wrong route with marketing, at least imo. Maybe it really doesn't effect sales at all, maybe it's even better for sales, I don't have any data to see one way or another, but I'd argue that this does increase confusion unless explicitly stated in the demo that in the full version you'll have a CC.

Plus, that was the whole point of DA:O's CC/pseudo demo which I'll argue got hype up a lot more than this demo will, as once you've seen the beginning, well, time to uninstall, whereas the CC demo from DA:O I still have on this brick of a hard drive simply because it's quicker to open it and tweak some faces than it is to open the actual game.

Not that it's a big deal, it's just confusing to me why they would omit that feature in this demo..

The CC for DA:O was one of the main reasons for me to make it my first day one purchase in years. Nothing gets me into RPGs like building characters. And though I haven't played any of my CC characters farther than Lothering in the end this special kind of demo gave me a great impression of how I'd like DA:O.

And I seriously hope we get to play with our own Hawke from the very beginning. Starting every game with an unreliably narrated default Hawke sounds like a very annoying thing. I care a lot about how my characters look in RPGs, and I want to know wether the look from the CC translates as well into the real game as I planned asap.

Good idea- I will download the demo just to make sure it works on my PC, and the keyboard works the same, and then stop before it gets interesting. Does anyone have a link to audio of voiceacting for followers besides just Varric and Isabella? Voices are a big deal for me. I wish each Character page had a little video clip like it did in the Origins home page. Nothing to spoil, just to whet the appetite.

Then just play the demo. Posted Image

Its a little bit late for a demo from my point of view but still worth playing for that razor.

As stated before part of this timing and resources, before releasing a demo I'm sure it had to go through Q &A and all that other stuff. I'm sure it was less resource intensive to create a side demo, similar to the E3 presentation rather then cut out part of the actual game and figure out how to import your characters into the demo and then re-import that character into DA 2.

DA had no demo, and just a character generator. While that's fine for some I prefer a demo, to let me know not just what I look like but what different classes/trees play like.

I'm not really bothered about creating a custom Hawke for the demo, but I was hoping to play around with the character creator. Otherwise I'll be sat there on March 11th tinkering with the character creator for a good couple of hours, like I always do.

After hundreds of pages of craving for a demo, there is amazingly low enthusiasm in this thread...folks were too disappointed by Bioware's letdown on Feb 1st I suppose

This is an excellent way to avoid piracy (whoever still pirate the game after this, it is because he/she is not interested in buying the game at all, there is no longer the need for a free "trial" version) and please your fans at the same time giving them some ingame items, i have to commend bioware for this smart move.

I'm looking forward to the demo, mostly for the magical conversation wheel and to decide whether to play as a 2h warrior or a Sword and Shield warrior for my first playthrough. I never really played as a 2h warrior in Origins because it was too slow, so hopefully the sped-up animations will work to my benefit.
