TBH I'm half expecting them to do an about face and release the PC demo to Gamestop. Honestly it would barely be the strangest thing that's happened recently. They could just say they were trying to cut down on the sales of DA2 demo codes on ebay or something equally ridiculous.

Somehow I'm reluctant to believe it would play out differently. It also makes me wonder what Bioware was thinking when they released an early demo, given that it would be fairly expected that codes would be sold and given away.

You're probably right. Delaying the demo for the general public never made sense to me. The only reason I could come up with is that they wanted to release it on the consoles at the same time as PC, and had to wait for certification or something.

That'd make a lot more sense, yeah.

It's entertaining to think that maybe, just maybe, tomorrow I'll go on the gamestop early demo page and be able to enter in my code there, even with the recent development that it was pulled. That'd be pretty cool, ha. Would certainly make my day.

I just started working at Gamestop recently (about a month and a half now) and was throughly surprised that they were doing this for us. Those lame faces who gave their codes away are now causing poor lil' ol' me to suffer I was super excited hoping maybe at 12 am 2-11-11, I would be able to play(download whatever). But alas, I can't. LAME. I was nanny nanny foo foo to my non-gamestop friends and now I look like an idiot cause I have to wait as long as they do.



I have to pitch their ridiculously awesome games to complete idiots, they should make my code valid for something. Give me a cool hat or something xP

It also may have had something to do with people trying to enter their codes too early and then having a useless code because it registers as "used." Someone posted a question on a different forum, saying that they'd tried to input their code, it took them to a blank page, and then the site said their code was "used." They wanted to know if their code would still work when the 11th came (of course nobody could answer them).

You should not promise something, get people excited about it and then cancel it the day before.



Or it just was not thought through. Which is surprising since it must have taken a lot of time, resources and meetings to organize.

This is why we cant have nice things!
Yeah I know its their fault too .__. But in my grief I was mostly disappointed with Bioware for not keeping a promise.But I have come to accept it.

Its fine, GS employees were suppost to be able to play the 11th but that got cancelled,everyone still gets the demo the 22nd :3

I'm going to venture a guess and say no, considering they don't even have the character creator in the demo there's no reason why they'd have the promo items in game. Besides, they wouldn't do much good as it's a small slice of the game and having these items available may not be as useful during the playtime.

Why should GS employees get it before anyone else? Don't understand that. I think downloading the demo on the 22nd like the rest of us gives them plenty of time to find out what the game is about and to push it on customers. Most customers that are interested are going to buy it anyway and probably already pre-ordered.

I don't actually have much to add to the topic... but since I can't delete the post I'll say something anyway.

I'll just say that I'm glad they stopped the early release codes if it was because they people were selling them to others and making profits from them, because that's just abusing the privilege. It's still gotta hurt for the GS employees that were really looking forward to the game, but weren't involved in any corruption.
