Ok, so I have searched for answers, and posted on a few other forums, but it seems like my issue isn't able to be resolved by common fixes, so I was hopping someone might have a trick to try.  I have read the fixes guides http://social.biowar...58/index/759141 and http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613 and followed their instructions, but to no avail.  Anyways, here is the issue.  And yes, it is a Steam bought game.

All my DLC is unauthorized.  I have done an InstallUtil DAUpdaterSVC.service.exe in admin mode, after the Net Stop, but it runs and tells me it is already installed.  Ok, so I goto my Services.MSC and I cannot find it anywhere.  Great, so not visible there.  I run the DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam.exe followed by DAUServiceSetup_Steam.exe, but get this error.

Path=d:\\steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age ultimate editionLanguage=enChecking service status: DAUpdaterSvc Service State=NotInstalledCreating service: DAUpdaterSvc - error rc=-1; CreateService string=Failed to Create the service. (1073)Checking status: DAUpdaterSvc Service State=NotInstalledCalling AddFirewallExceptionAddFirewallException result: OkCompleted

Ok, so according to the game, my Service is not installed, yet when I goto install it, it claims it is.  I run the diagnostic tool and get this

According to this, my Updater is not installed.

I am now at a true loss, what do I do?  I can't install it as the installer thinks it is installed, but nothing else can find it or where it is installed to.  I have un installedand reinstalled the game three times now, with the last me going through and deleting EVERYTHING I could find from EA or Dragon Age, but I know I had to miss some in Windows, or Program Files(x86), etc. where hidden with odd names.  Also, nothing in the registry by following the EA guidelines for a manual uninstall.  Help, please?

Ok, so I got the game from EA to download from their manager, but no dice there either. The problem remains the stupid DAupdater service. It is not located in service.msc, and when I go to install it with installutil, it states it is there. Went through Registry and deleted all keys that had anything to do with DAUpdater, but no dice either, still says it is installed. Yet when I do installutil -u, I get an exception I don't have permission but it continued with uninstall. No idea what is going on, but yes, my CMD is run in ADMIN mode.

None that I know of. Pretty clean as far as that goes, as least, again, as far as I know.

i downloaded the game and its extra content, i then redeemed it off the bioware website. After that i registered my game. But every time i play dragon age origins ultimate edition and log in it always says that i am unauthorized to play any of the content except for dragon age:origins and dragon age:awakening.

Are you using the 64 or 32 bit version of installutil to do this?

Same thing is happening to me. I am using the exact code that Steam gave me to install the DLC but it cannot be authorized. **** this. Boiware is extremely incompetent when it comes to this. Everyone is having problems. I payed for the DLC, I can't play it no matter what I do. YAY.

i agree, Bioware make phenomenal games but are terrible with dlc. This is really an area where they should improve in order to keep potential buyers happy.
