If the CC was including I may, but I'm not too worried about the freebie with the demo, I just feel that as it's close to release date I may not try it and get the full excitement when my SE comes in the post and I do have a lot of uni work on so i can't be distracted really until after 4th March (hand in date) ....*sad face*
is anybody skipping the demo

Skipping the game entirely.

That's a bit stupid. The demo starts off in the start of the game, just consider it as if you were playing the actual game but then you have to take a break until 8th march. Problem solved.Fatex3 wrote...

Because thats B.S. that players on the fence get a DLC item when loyal fans who dont want spoilers miss out.
Why not consider it the start of your first playthrough, then it might build up antisipation for March 8th.

I'll be skipping it for similar reasons to the OP.

I am, indeed, going to -try- to skip the demo. I want the actual game to be immense, hence why I will stop my third run through of DA:O on March 1st (*a teardrop rolls down his cheek*). It is nothing but a personal choice, but I will allow my brother to play it through on my account, for Hayden's razor, then be awed when I actually get the game.

The main reason I want to play the demo is so I can know for sure what class I want to be. It'll help the indecisiveness I felt when I first booted up Origins. The sooner I know that, the sooner I can begin the 3 hour process of creating a look for my character (that part always drives me nuts, and I cant ever just make a decision quickly. Ill play with those stupid sliders forever).

well since i've already seen most of the spoilers already out there might as well play the demo to see if i like the experience of the new combat system. i kind of wish bioware could make a character creator with a gameplay demo that doesnt show anything from the story. maybe just run through an area or 2 with some random party members killing some darkspawn with a class of your choice.

I'll be playing the demo. My last chance to see whether the UI + voice put me off enough to cancel my SE pre-order.

yes I am. I'm already angry with myself for hearing what femhawke and Isabella sound like.
edit: ok I just read from Priestly that you get a free item with the demo so, maybe I won't skip it.

No. I thought about skipping it but it's not really the same as reading a spoiler or watching a spoiler-ific video. You're getting to play it and experience it yourself. (Plus, you get extra in-game swag... that I'll probably never use... but I'll have the option to use it if I want.)

Aye, I'm still not sure if I'd rather wait until the full game is released (already pre-ordered for SE), but as a Silver user of Xbox Live, I'll probably have to wait until the 29th, as I'll be very surprised if the demo is released for Silver members, alongisde Gold members, on the 22nd.
My main reasons for playing the demo, apart from the inability to wait a few extra weeks for the full game, are for the extra weapon (even if it ends up not being very useful after some time), and to try out the three different classes. I've already decided (well, around 85% decided) that I'm gonna play as a female for my first playthrough (after making the same decision for Fable III was very enjoyable), and, at the very least, if the thought of Bethany-romance comes up, unless it's lesbian incest, I'll be powerless to do anything about it anyway! (I should probably point out, I'm joking - no interest in incest of/with either Bethany or Carver... Really!)
Despite liking to play as a warrior (or the Guardian equivalent in KotOR, Vanguard for Mass Effect, etc.) in my first playthrough, mostly due to it being combat-heavy, making my first playthrough, on usually the easiest difficulty, easier (as even if I'm alone in my party, I should be able to hold my own easier than the other classes), I'm thinking about playing as a rogue first this time, partly due to the new class design, and partly due to the fact I disliked being 'forced' to bring a certain party member out with me if I wanted to unlock chests/doors/etc.
Edit: Oh, I'm also thinking/planning to actually start the game on the 'normal' difficulty this time; I've mollycoddled myself enough by now!
Still, that's what the demo will, hopefully, help me solve. And, anyway, as part of the whole "slice of pizza, then wait another two weeks for the rest" analogy, since I plan on playing one final playthrough of Origins before II during my half-term (around 4:30pm this Friday (18th) to around 6:30am Monday, 28th), I might just hold off on the demo for II until a day or two before the actual release date (UK = 11th March)...
Edit 2: Oh! How could I forget!? There's an event, Gamesblog, happening in London next Saturday (19th), which I plan to attend. Mike Laidlaw is there, where he'll be discussing story-telling and narrative, in particular on the subject of Dragon Age II (well, it would make sense to, I guess), and there'll also be an opportunity to try the game itself, so, if I can, I'll be playing that, although I guess it will just be a slightly earlier access of the demo, since that's been announced now.
This link is currently not working for me (IE9, though it worked fine on my iPod Touch's Safari just a few minutes ago), but here's the link for anyone who might be interested in going - http://www.guardian....g-live-ea-games.

Yeah, I'll be skipping the demo. I've already purchased the digital version of the game on direct2drive so I'm sold. Plus I'm back logged on a couple other games I'd like to play before Dragon Age II comes out so I won't have time to bother with the demo.

I'm going to skip. I've spoiled too much for myself already and I'm determined not to let anything else color my perception of the actual game. When I start playing, I want to be able to go through the whole thing. Plus, I've never been a big 2-handed fan, so missing the sword's not going to kill me. If the freebie was a set of daggers (seriously, where are the rogue promo items?), things might be different.

I won't be trying the demo.
However; I WILL be watching for the reaction both from the "BlindFaith" crowd..moslty Console types
(no offense intended), and those who will give me true insight as to how divergent the game has become.
I have seen the graphics and it is Painfully obvious they have be created with the weak processing power of the consoles in mind.
Having Two GTX-580's at $520.00 ea. I want to have something that could at least make the fans spin up. I am not sure if it if will even have a 32X antiaisling option.
But you (almost) never know..
Yuni will be waiting

Definitely going to be playing the demo. That way when the full game is released, I can just slide straight into it without having to adjust to any gameplay changes. I highly doubt that unless you've been avoiding all info that's been coming out recently, there will be anything that spoilery in the demo. I'm guessing it's pretty much the stuff we saw in the Live Chat, plus the intro beforehand.

I can understand why you wouldn't want to spoil the experience of playing the game for the very first time. However, I think I am going to have to play the demo. There's something in me that wants to have the most complete game possible, and that includes having the rewards from demos/tie in facebook games etc. There is one option though, which might give me the best of both worlds. IF the DLC can be added at any time to a current saved game I might well hold off on actually playing the demo until I'm an appreciable way into the game and then obtain the bonus item. At worst I might have to hold off on the demo entirely until I finish the game and then obtain the item for my next character, who knows at this point?

I'll play it I see no reason not too, I have it pre-ordered why not play a couple bits of the game, which I know I'm going to play anyway. Disappointed that its a 2h sword, I was hoping for a dagger for my rogue D:
