I'm not doing the demo. I'd like a character creator like most everyone else, but as far as game play, I'm skipping it.
is anybody skipping the demo

Originally I wasn't going to play the demo, but two things changed my mind.
1) You get another weapon/item.
2) I recently played Two Worlds 2, and I need something to wash that.... game... from my memory forever.

im useing the demo to see what class i want to play first in the full game
Same here. I'm still not sure if I want to play as shield & swrod warrior, 2-weapon rogue or some kind of the mage. So I'll check the demo and I hope it helps me to choose the class for my first playthrough.
On the bonus item? Actually, I don't care about it. And for those, who are worried about missing it, you can ALWAYS play the demo at a later time; let's say after your first playthrough :-)

There is no way I'm going to play the demo. It's like having a bite of Pizza during the superbowl and then having some punk say,"NO NO NO, 2 more weeks"
I already have my pre-order.
I agree with you. The idea of getting a sample and then being deprived of the full experience seems unbearable considering my Dragon Age obsession. I once played Origins for 28 hours straight (yikes, maybe I shouldn't admit that?!) I am waiting until the full game comes out. Way better than pizza though so I don't know about that analogy.

The 22nd is my week off and I'm an addict. There's no way I'm skipping the demo.

I wanted to play the demo because that week is my reading week... I was originally hoping DA2 would come out that week.. but it didn't but at least I have this demo.... Until I realized my xbox live account just ended and I need to buy more time -- unfortunately, students don't have money :S
So it looks like no demo for me >.>

I'll be playing the demo. I had been on the fence about this game for some time, I see no reason not to test the waters.

No. I want to see how the game plays, and experement with the classes.
That, and I like getting a free item for playing.

I was thinking about skipping the Demo, but i dont think i can resist the urge to taste DA2. I know it comes out 2 weeks later but i just read another thing on it in Gameinformer and i felt i was drooling over the pages(mentally)

Considering the demo is free provided I get an aswer on whether or not it's DRM-free (oddly some demos do come with DRM), I see no reason for not giving it a go.
I have been very critical of DA2 but why on earth skip a drm-free(?) demo

I will be playing the demo for mutiple reasons
#1 another promo item (to go with my many ones for signature edition and hopefully the legends ones)
#2 I need a DA2 fix been playing DA:O since the beginning of FEB and I so want my DA2 fix (on my like 10 or 11th playthrough overall)
#3 get a sneak peak at the prologue and early game for me that is not spoilers
I would like to see a char creator as well I so want to pre make my hawkes

I don't think I can skip it. I want the extra item and I love the fact that I get to try things out beforehand, spoilers be damned! LOL!!

just wondering does the free demo promotion expire? If not cant you just go back and download, play it and unlock the sword after you buy DA2?

Won't be skipping the demo. With the marketing for this game being the way it has been, the demo's going to be my clearest picture of just how much of a departure DA2 is going to be from DA:O.
That demo is almost certainly going to sway my purchase of this title, one way or the other. Is not so much a matter of "to buy or not to buy" in my case, but just a matter of when: Do I wait for the first couple patches, or do I wait until Bio's development cycle on the game is actually complete in a year or so? Current thinking is to wait until the game is actually complete, but... you never know. Things might change when I get my grubby little hands on a piece of the actual product.
Besides, it's free. Can't go wrong with free.
... except sometimes.

Unfortunately, I sorta have to skip it--my laptop's isn't exactly good enough to play DA2, and I won't be getting in the new until probably March
. Ah well, considering my coursework at the moment, I probably won't have the time anyway.
But, uh, I'll be with all of you playing the demo in...spirit? Or something.

I keep telling myself I won't, but I know I'll break down and play it.

Did we ever get an answer on if mages can use the sword (since it adds mana)?

Posté 13 février 2011 - 08:41
I'm getting the demo just to see whether I need to upgrade my GPU or not.
---
I was given the impression that stamina and mana are given the same bonuses across everying now.
i.e. Anything that adds stamina also adds mana and vise versa.
I may be wrong but that's the impression I got.

I'll be skipping every cutscene and dialogue in the demo, but otherwise I'll be playing it.
