I've not played a game demo in years. I used to do it frequently with Amiga game demos and after that PC demos when my parents bought us computer magazines - we couldn't afford to buy full games much so my brothers and I had to be content with mostly demos and the odd full game.as birthday or Christmas presents. If I was unsure about buying the game I might have decided to play the demo but I have already preordered it so I don't feel the need.

I am absolutely going to download the demo. It will mean the difference between buying the game right away on steam for $60, or waiting for the price to come down. If I don't like the game play or the new dialog system, then I can wait to see how my warden had an effect on the world.

I was gonna skip it, until I found out you get an item when you play through it. If anything I'll probably play a day before DA2 or after an hour of playing DA2. xp

Nope, I want to to compare the gameplay on PC and 360. Also...it's going to be a long 2 weeks between the demo and the full release.

I'm gonna download it........ after  I beat the part the demo covers in the main game. That way I avoid spoilers and can still get the dwarven blade, its available untill May 31st after all

The contents of the demo woundn't necessarily count as spoilers per se, but playing it will somewhat spoil the first "pure" playthrough. If I've already played the prologue, I know I'll be involuntarily metagaming at least a little when I actually play the full game and know what's going to happen. Also, unless the demo includes a character creator and a chance to import DA:O decisions, we'll be forced to play as the default Hawke, which again stales the first DA2 moments to some of us.

There are many valid reasons why people might want to skip the demo. I know I won't be able to resist the temptation as much as I'd love to. And Hayder's Razor just looks too sweet:P

Heck no, if I can get a hold of the demo without risking a virus infecting my computer, (I'm rather paranoid these days) I'm going to play it thoroughly. Whatever the reviews say, I want to know if I like the revamped combat system before I get the game.

You could always wait until March 8th.... play the game a little (until after you get Isabella and get to Kirkwall, etc). THEN download the demo, play that and beat it to get the DLC weapon. That way your not being spoiled the story or seeing anything you haven't seen before.

But since they're adding another DLC item, I will have to play it. Why Bioware, why?

I'm going to be loaded down with DLC items at release.

Always planned to play the demo, I do with any game that has a demo release, it will tide me over till the full game, well perhaps not, but it will be good to check things out, I hope the DX11 options are available to try.

The way I see it, everyone here is a little "spoiled" already.  You all even know whats the demo all about (you get to "meet" Isabella at the end...), so, I really dont find any reason of weight to wait for the whole game.

If the demo would be some section "in the middle of the game", it might be different, but as its only the beggining... The only thing I'd probably do is play as Garret, as I intend to do my first palythrough with Marian Hawke, and perhaps I'll choose a different class also.
So that way I wont be "repeating" the experience entirely.

I dislike demos, but am glad for people who wished for it. I still wonder how deep into the game the demo goes, and whether or not I should stop frequenting the forums then, or later.
