I intend to play the heck out of the demo. It will help me decide which class I will take through first. :)

I'll probably be skipping it because I'm already going to buy the Game as soon as I can afford it...which will be a while.

I played about 3 minutes of the ME@ Demo before I said to myself "Oh, Yeah...this Game's for me" but was a bit sorry I spoiled even that small portion for myself.

I'll be playing through it a few times. Knowing the prologue to the story won't spoil the rest of the game for me.

So does everyone use mana now? Or why would a sword add mana?

Actually, it adds both stamina or mana

Haydens Rayzor
Adds to Health
Adds to mana/stamina
Increases chance of knockback.

So that means mages can use it?

How is playing through the start of a game spoiling the game for yourself? I mean, its not like someone told you, you actually played it.

Because the mana/stamina stats are linked. There were items in Origins that added xy amount to mana/stamina regeneration.

Yeah but they were listed as only adding stamina. Why even mention mana if mages can't equip it?

Just my personal Opinion...I'd much rather not get hooked and have myself running out to buy something I know I can't afford at the moment...
I played the ME2 demo before I bought and played ME1...so "spoiled" is a wrong term to use with the DA2 Demo, you're right.

I want to try out the character creator. I also want to hear LadyHawke's voice.

Not me. The demo is actually whats going to make me decide to get the game or not.
I was going to skip this game if there wasn't going to be a demo.

Dunno tbh....I'm not excited enough to need the palliative. A free sword sounds nice but eh, I'll live if I don't get it.

The contents of the demo woundn't necessarily count as spoilers per se, but playing it will somewhat spoil the first "pure" playthrough. If I've already played the prologue, I know I'll be involuntarily metagaming at least a little when I actually play the full game and know what's going to happen.

But then you just don't replay the prologue when you get DA2. Presumably the demo will leave a savegame for you to pick up where you left off, the way ME2's did.

No, I won't be skipping it. As a regular forumite I'm already familiar with every spoiler in the demo already so that's not an issue. Plus, playing it will help me decide which class I want to use first. Oh and the sword doesn't hurt either.

This sword, only for warriors or also for rogues?

The pre order bonuses ( for various stores or offers ) seems to favor warriors and mages.

But the rogues then? Bows? Bah, give me an excellent dagger instead ;)

Play as an warrior then perhaps you say then, yeah, when an warrior can learn to open or bash locks so yeah, why not.

But until then, only rogues count ;)

I'm thinking of trying the demo just to get an early look at how the new stats and abilities work.

This would be the ideal solution and I'm really hoping this will be the case. That would mean that the demo would have to have a CC. Also, the DA:O saves should be imported to the demo and I'm a little skeptical about the likelihood of that. The easy road for Bioware would be a default Hawke demo. Well, I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

I will but i'll play a rogue with default Hawke because in the real one i'll be playing custom warrior Hawke. So no spoilers :)

i need to get a feel for the classes and genders before making a commitment to anything when the full game ships. I normally wouldn't and just rush into the game unknowing but when given the opportunity, heck yea I'll play the demo. Also, you'd have to be crazy to pass up such an easily accessible bonus weapon.

Nope. It's probably the only thing I'll play until the actual game comes out. Like others have said, it'll help determine what class I would want to play as first.

You can skip it if you wish, but you'll miss out on getting Hayden's Razor when DA 2 ships. :)

Any relation to Occam's razor?
