I think they mean the unlockable sword for the full game.

I tried with every class and I simply can't beat him, download 2 ****ing gigabytes for ****ing nothing...

and yes, I know, it's my fault for being **** at this kind of game.

hehe... should be a log in option on the start menu. Lord i love the art work and music of the start screen.... beautiful!

just keep your main toon back from the action, you will get it eventually, its not that hard a fight, just need to be a bit strategic about things...

Potions and heals are king... you can do it!!

yeah, and when I keep my ass out of the fire, everyone else gets theirs handed in no time, and then I'm left to fight 5 or 6 darkspawn and a raging Ogre by myself.



Guess I'm just too stupid to play it right.

I'll better wait for the main game so I can switch to an easier difficulty level.

The PS3 download is available now til 10 pm central time. I got it  only took about 30 min to dowload!

To be honest, I wasn't impressed with what I played, but then it was only the stuff prior to hitting the "character creator" because the demo kept crashing. Not only the game, but my whole machine the first time, and then my display drivers the next, so I just gave up on it. I'm not going to bother with something that kills my computer each time, especially when the stuff I did play was unimpressive to say the least.

If you have overclocked any part of your system (CPU, GPU, RAM) then that might be the problem, also heat buildup due to bad airflow can lock up systems.

Not saying that you did any of that, but that is the most common problem with PCs locking up or rebooting all of a sudden.

Nope, it's not. I've never had an unmodified game crash so horribly before. There was an awful graphical glitch the first time and everything locked up and then went in super slow motion, and I couldn't even get back to Windows again and had to reboot the machine. The second time I got a weird graphical glitch fighting the ogre and then it minimized the game during this fight twice, then appeared to be fine again afterwards. Finally it crashed again shortly after the character creation screen and there was an error saying it had crashed out my display drivers entirely, reducing me to 640x480 resolution with 8 colours and then locking up the machine again. The game was actually running silky smooth when it was going, but then these crashes.

Got also past that intorduction- which seemed not so nice as DAO- all that pieces jumping around and everything build up of squares. Well maybe its just other game than DAO and must be get used to. BUT when I was past profile creation then DA2 just crashed on me. Might need some tweeking in settings, but takeing into consideration all that loading after every move with my HD 6950 and NOT maxed out graphics it points to not so good gameplay. But in combat handling was quite familiar and worth to try get it running
BTW Im amazed that one of the most anticipated game was launched as Demo barely a week before official game launch. For that 10 points to Bioware.

Then all I can give as advice is to update your graphics drivers.
I'm currently running a RadeonHD 4850 and a Phenom X4 at 2.1GHz at maximum details and using the Catalyst 11.2 Drivers for the card.
No glitches whatsoever so far, hope it stays that way.

Arrrgghh the suspence is killing me! I'm downloading it on PS3 but it's only at 12% after like two hours, so I'm downloading it on the pc as well. It seems there are a lot of conflicting opinions, but they only make me want to play more! I'll review it soon!

The only error I got was the DirectX one which someone here already posted the solution. Other than that, no glitches whatsoever! Beat everything without dying. Well, Sister died during the last fight.. Great game! Can't wait till retail.

do you think when we can modify how hawke looks like, would the family look different too? cause i remember in da, mama and papa cousland would be white regardless of how your character looked. probs made for some hilarious family portraits, but anyway that would be pretty cool if brother and mama hawke look like a spinoff of your own customizable hawke!

I liked the demo enough, not greatly but since i could only play on dx9 settings i have something to look forward to, now just to wait till the 8th
