I'm actually wondering if that's what I need to do, but I'm reluctant to do so, since last time I did it both Mass Effect games had issues with it and I rolled back, while they both run fine with the drivers I'm using now.

Edit: And that didn't work. Tried updating to latest Nvidia drivers: 266.58. Still has the same issue after that.

Just finished it on PC. Man the battles are fun (with a rogue at least). Some comments:



- Can't save in the demo and it crashed midway...

- I must play with video options at LOW... I was at VHigh in Origins. I hope the final version will be least demanding on hardware.

- On PC, where is the up view when you zoom out completely? I hope it's gonna be in the final version! Any comments on that ?

- The female Hawke well... let's say I won't have to change her appearance, she is great!



Great demo! Had fun and since I'm a huge ME fan, I'm really happy now that my character talks!

I have looked everywhere and havent found a answer so figured maybe the offical forums would know.
At the end of the demo it says preorder and get early digital acces to the game. So if you preorder it on steam is there a early access to the game now?
i havent heard of this till today.

I'm having problems and I can't get the demo to start (and I read the readme and my computer certainly meets the requirements.)



I'm getting these errors:

The program can't start because d3dx9_43.dll is missing from your computer.



So I uninstalled and tried to re-install and got this msg:



Error opening file for writing (DragonAge2Demo.exe)



Is anyone else having this problem?

I got a .dll error related to DirectX when I first went to play.
Solved by going into Program Files\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Dragon Age 2 Demo\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\redist\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\DirectX
and running the DXSETUP.exe file

This helped with the DirectX Error for me, at least.  For the other, maybe try re-extrating it from the zip file?

My experiences:  Played as Female Mage.  I couldn't defeat the Ogre.  The Warrior in my party did, but ONLY because I gave her Pommel Strike.  Ogre can hit if it's always stunned.  Lost all my potions, too.

Have the Razor, and something else, too.  Hindsight.  What's this?  (P.S.  I found them under registered Game Promotions)

I have pretty much that exact same setup and it runs great for me aswell. Loving the new dynamic battles, atleast with the rogue. Combat was actually fast paced and exciting for a change!

I went and downloaded the file they said to, but since I totally do not understand how to do what they're telling me to do, I've given up and and trying to download the demo again. I guess I won't be able to try it out tonight. This is incredibly frustrating for me, since I've been waiting so long for this.

Its not the error of the game,its an error of direct x
To solve this just go to this link and download the d3dx9_43.dll file and paste it as instructed.

Does the game only run in medium graphics detail? That's all I seem to find on the Configure page under video.

Yes high and very high are only for direct x 11 graphic cards....unfortunately..

With regards to getting item, make sure you leave the last little bit of the demo to play all the  way thru and let it take you back to the new game screen, should get your razor then

I beat the demo but didn't get the item registered to my account at the end. It's the weirdest thing!



I noticed that even though I signed in at the start when I finished the Demo my account was Signed Off for some reason. What's the deal with that?



Also, the Demo was ridiciouslly easy. All you have to do is make your Tank(warrior) mass Constritution for the first part than mostly constritution+cunning for the second part+Taunt.

I was totally looking forward to this but... I hated it. Seriously disappointed. I tried a rogue and it is frankly ridiculous... the toon moves in idiotic jerky spaz fits rather that the beautiful flowing animations in DA Origins. Even the normal running animations are lame. I really wish I had not pre-ordered :-(

Never mind, I can't even run it on medium.  It asks for some dx3dx11_43.dll.  And I don't have a dx11 graphics card. (Windows XP, 8800 GT here)

thats a shame that you dont like it, but honestly, when you get it, give it a chance, I've just watched the half hr of playtime on gamespot and it really does look fantastic

I know, but while playing it'll say "can not connect to server" or something like that every so often

@ RaptorKitty, just try a little later in the day/night... I used to get that randomly with DA:O and would be able to log in a few hrs later

I got the Hayder's razor registered  just be online till you complete the demo and when you are back on the title screen you will get the message that your account has been updated.

I can imagine, you still have till release date to pick up Hayden's Razor anyways, have you checked back in your items to see if it hasnt been added?
