Oh, it would be nice if it were an actual model of the planet, like in the actual ME1 galaxy map (for cities like Illium, things would be more complicated, but still, awesome idea) I support!!

I should also mention that, when in-system, the starfield skybox they've got now would work just fine. The nebula views could only be for when you're between systems in a cluster (even though I know not many people stop to walk around the Normandy at those times, but a little extra polish like that might encourage more people to smell the roses, so to speak).

Great idea. I would love to see this in ME3, small details often help with immersion.

nice idea - i'd certainly like to see planets/space/whatever out the window occasionally. i would believe the reason ME2 is like it is, is because you're always "racing against time" to save the colonies, hence always FTL-ing to your next destination (assuming you're just following the plot).
Bit strange to be doing that when you've still got stuff to do on Ilium. Or just came back to change your helmet.

To be honest, I don't really care so much about the nebula views. They'd be nice, but they're not a deal-breaker. But I really want at least the visible docking bays and planet views.

This was something the dev team wanted to include in ME2 but was cut because they ran out of time/resources.
Devs have posted a few times explaining that, in ME2's development cycle, they were tasked beyond the max, to the point of some of the dev team working on the game in their own private time, off the clock, just to get features they cared about into the game.
So, I agree, it'd be a great feature. But if it gets cut again in ME3, you know it'll be for a good reason.
Oh dear-- and with the super early release date for ME3 there's probably a high chance of more stuff like that happening... Their supervisors should take a cue from Blizzard and release the game only when it's fully ready. (Otherwise you get buggy stuff like the PS3 version, and content cuts due to time)

Super early release? Mass Effect 1 was released in November of 2007. Mass Effect 2 was released in January of 2010, or 2 years and 2 months later. Mass Effect 3 won't be released until "Holiday 2011" which is about ~2 years since ME2, roughly the same amount of time. The difference is that BioWare won't have to worry about porting everything to a new engine as they did with ME2, so those 2 years can be spent almost entirely on gameplay, story and art.
