What? You now need everything stated so obviously? No.

You, sir, are a great man.

As someone who doesn't follow the forums with any regularity (Well haven't in a very long time, since the DAO launch), has never read posts by you, only recently learned that you were the author of the story behind DaO and having just read your books...

I don't know if I should be offended, or am missing some underlying sarcasm, because I have no idea what you're talking about...

"..stated so obviously?"

.. Geez.. Sorry I asked.

Mr. Gaider is teasing you. It was meant in good humor.

To be fair, I wouldn't have said that was entirely obvious.

I didn't think so either. That is why I was offering my perspective based on having observed him (Mr. Gaider) for a while, especially since Coldren claims he is not familiar with the forums. I don't believe Mr. Gaider would have been snarky or offensive to the very politely worded request Coldren posted. However, I can see why Coldren could have considered it so and that is why I was explaining.

I seem to recall us having a similar conversation to this once before. Different people, same conversation

I shall take your word for it, because I don't know anything about his posting style.

But no, if it was meant in good humor, it defintely was not the first impression I got.

Thank you for clarifying.

I support more books because apparently they successfully get otherwise unliterate people to read--given how enthusiastic most of the response to said books has been.

Because (Sorry Mr. Gaider), they weren't that good. I enjoyed them, but only because I was excited about the game, if I'd bought them just as books, I'd have been seriously disappointed.

I think Mr. Gaider chose his words very carefully. One might begin to wonder... ;)

I hope he doesn't hear you calling him Mr. Gaider, Stan, he might get mad.  Or feel old.

I know. I know.

Beer: Championing who she considers misunderstood whether they know it, care about it, deserve it or even want it.

You are most welcome. And I apologize for my typos. I corrected them.

Where can I get the books that already exist? I've not seen them anywhere!

Well put.

I read constantly, and I read TsT because it was in the house, I needed a book, and I was having debates about Loghain over in the Origins section of this board.

It was interesting, but not really up to the level of books I like to read.  I did not read The Calling (it's also in my house) because of the writing style.

I'm not saying it was poorly written, it just lacked the depth I look for in a book.

I just downloaded and finished reading The Stolen Throne and The Calling on my Kindle.. And I absolutely loved them! The stories are excellent, and it makes me wish there was DLC or prequels to DAO that would let me play out those stories.

Are you planning to write any new books based on the lore of Dragon Age 2? Perhaps some more prequel fiction that will not be told in the game?

Thanks!

Thansk, Coldren, I will definitely look into those. I was concerned that I hadn't seen them in store anywhere though I've seen other video game themed books i.e Assassin's Creed and Fable (which I have) but no sign of Dragon Age.

My pleasure.

How are the Assassin's Creed ones, by the way? I've enjoyed that story line as far as I've played the games.. Send me a message if you could! Probably not right to talk about another game on these forums.

I'm trying to be a tad circumspect, because Dave was very clever in his response.

Was he? Bah. Need to brush up on my ability to "read between the lines", though I believe that's only possible through familiarity.

I shall have to wait and see!

Whatever, you needle nerds -- endlessly sadistic. Someday, openly natter.

(Okay, that was weak. But I'm still the first one to figure it out, and eeeeeeeee)

IMO the Calling was better in some respects than Stolen Throne, but worse in others.  Mr. Gaider did a better job with the plot hook in The Calling, and the suspense/action was a lot better.  But the writing was worse and the characterization was worse.

Great ocular optimization, distinguetraces. Just... overly brilliant!
