Consider the tone and manner in which he responded.Coldren wrote...
I shall have to wait and see!
Now go back to DA1.
Do you see any...similarities with any race there that you encountered? Some gruff race perhaps? Some race that was blunt and to the point?
I think he actually gave you a CLUE!!!
/Could be completely blowing this out of proportion.

I'm now thinking that a book about the Qunari is in the works.
"No." indeed.
Ahh.. That would make sense!
My memory isn't the best.. And I never would have made the connection between his statement and Sten's directness. But now that you have pointed it out, it's so obvious.. Maybe I need to play the game again.
That would be excellent! A book about the events leading up to the Qunari invasion of Kirkwall, if that is what is shown in the cinematic trailer... Or about the Ashok and his "rise to power".
And I like the Qunari!
I apologize for my misgivings, Mr. Gaider. Went straight over my head... And thank you for the hint, if that was the intent!

What? You now need everything stated so obviously? No.
Whatever, you needle nerds -- endlessly sadistic. Someday, openly natter.
(Okay, that was weak. But I'm still the first one to figure it out, and eeeeeeeee)
You mean, "WYNNE'S SON"?
ARGH.

I wish I had the time to envelop myself in the DAO universe to understand some of these exchanges. They seem intriguing on the surface!

hey, it was going really well until PsychoBlonde just blurted it out!
Having not understood the nuance of what was stated, I'm grateful someone did. I've enjoyed the books, and played DAO through once along ago, and recently completed it again after restarting due to a PC reformat. But I haven't had the luxury to really immersie myself in the universe, so clarification from those who grasp that nuance because they are quicker studies, or have had more exposure to the universe through replays or time to read and educate themselves about it was welcome.
I think in a forum such as this, it may be easy to forget there are various levels of "fans". And without the proper context, I initially misunderstood the nature of Mr. Gaider's response... Thankfully someone clarified, and a miscommunication was avoided.
So take that for what you will. I don't post or read message boards often enough, especially recently, so I apologize in advance if I am indeed speaking from yet another misinterpruted statement.
I will anxiously await the new book!

Dude, I wouldn't worry about it. I've played through DAO a lot, read the books, and have seen a lot of the writers and designers post enough to have a fair grasp of their posting personalities... and David still went sailing waaaay over my head. Then again, I was not seeing the word game hidden in it.

I should have kept quieter too -- it was pretty great how people were taking that "No." as implying Sten and taking that as implying a qunari protagonist, and -- gasp -- oh my lord is David Gaider going to write a book about Wynne getting knocked up by a qunari?

Given what some of the comic book writers are turning them into evil villains and lots of hate on the forums, it seems the grey aspect doesn't come trough.
could also be because we really saw the game and the word from the mages perspective, but lack that of commoners or templars Aalistair doesn't count).
