Insatiable Hunger!!
http://img193.images...0211134140.jpg/
Posted Image

You might have noticed a substantial drop in the Hunger's hitpoints between the last screenshot and this one. That's because I was desperately trying to keep Merohpe alive and forgot to snap pics as Hunger crit'd me three or four times in a row; each scythe hit did about 125 pts damage and Merohpe was chuggin' back Heal potions, as Safiya kept replenishing my stack from her own. i think mr. Bweebirt droppped down to around 60 hp, meaning one more lucky scythe hit (4xCrit) would have ended the battle there & then. This is payback Time!

33. The icon above Merohpe's head was from Safiya re-juicing Stoneskin. She knows what to do :)

Is Safiya the only companion you can get to come with you?
PS: I had trouble before when trying to kill that last boss with my Rogue/Invisible Blade/Assassin... my weapons seemed to fail and i kept getting killed, i won eventually - but it was hard.

Some things an AC of 66 won't do for you >_>

yep, Safiya's the only one

Strangely, when I played this the first time a year & a half ago, i remember i had an impossibly murderous time - got chopped apart again and again (can't remember what class, oh yeah a Dwarf Fighter). It sounds just like yours: weapons fail, take massive damage. I *think* Safiya then alone took down Akachi, by finding out what spells affected it or something like that. Tis a very hard fight

This time, though, I noted the Voice of Kelemvor or the lich Ysuf or some NPC telling me that I can use Devour as much as i want - was a bit taken aback when I use it, then glance up at my spirit energy: 17 (it was full*). Not sure why that happened, tho. I soon realized that Devour is the key to the whole battle

*edit, uhm no it wasn't full .. twas prob. about 17

The faceless man is easy, killing your entire party in case you devour the faceless man is nigh impossible if you have TonyK's AI, as they will cast the spells to counter you with brutal effectiveness (protection from negative, death ward, etc).

Myounage,

are you saying that Devouring the faceless man, or his buddies, is Lethal (to party) without protection?

Using the devour spirit ability on the faceless man and his mini-mes does not harm your party. But if you devoured Myrkul, you will have the dialogue choice to devour the faceless man after defeating him. If you do this, after you leave the dreamscape you will have to kill your entire party (they turn on you regardless of influence).

TonkyK's AI patch makes your party really smart, and they cast exactly the things they need to deal with a pesky spirit eater who can instakill them with a souped up devour soul ability. Death ward, protection from negative energy, etc.

ah Thx,

that's what your other post was ..

yeh I use TonyK's. man, would *not* want to face that (i devoured Myrkul but it was more a knee-jerk thing (not evil) when I chose to outright slay F-Man)

kudos

Heh, I like the idea of devouring Myrkul. He always loved irony, so it's very satisfying to turn it against him.

I thought the actual fight was so-so but I really loved the set-up for it. The visuals, and the simple tribal-like drumming for the soundtrack just made the whole thing extremely cool.

Is it really a problem? With Eviscerate Spirit you instakill everything regardless of health status. Does protection from death effects even negate this? Regardless I probably woudln't have trouble killing the lot of them in melee. Could be tricky with a caster.

Is it possible to have Okku or Kaelyn to come along in the end if one has insufficient influence with Safiya/Gann?

my (extremely incomplete) intuition (on this) says, only Safiya gets to tag along. Not sure why, since as you suggest Gann is the dreamwalker, for the Dreamscape. maybe he can tag along somehow.

A fellow could look into the module, but that'd be a hassle ;\\

( ah, i see, if playing female role, Gann is the support )

Yes, it does. You cannot use Spiritual Evisceration on a half-celestial or otherwise death effect immune target. As a sidenote, one of the patches gave the Gann you fight Mass Death Ward. I was melee, and believe me it took a few times.
