I loved playing a rogue in Origins, but I loved being a mage too...and being a mage means I can see if Carver would be overprotective of his big sis'...but the new rogue combat style looks very interesting as well...I'll probably decide on one and then switch to the other once I actually get the game. I probably won't be playing a rogue in any play through because of what we've seen. They've moved rogue away from being a skilled fighter back into more of a typical assassin type role and I hate them removing bard and ranger from the specialisations, they've removed the variety from the class. I can only see myself playing an archer type rogue.

lol steal the lil mage heart with your quickness. i can see it already, my Hawke slicing through monsters while his love is casting blood magic and use fire on his sword =] =] =] with Bethany taking care of her half-elf nephew or niece at home.

Playing Dragon Age Origins as a Rogue was the best in my opinion. Being a mage was fun, Warrior too, but being a Rogue was definitely my favourite. Rogue's are more on the edge, and I believe is the best class to have for your lead. So Dual Weapons and a Lock Pickin' for me in Dragon Age 2!

I'm really torn between playing a Mage or a Rogue first. Fortunately, since the demo is coming out, I can try both before I actually get the game. :D

Like peas in a pod, you and I - I love mage and rogue and absolutely can't decide either. It's going to be tough lol

I played warrior in WoW for way too long so the joy/attraction is just not there.

Heh. I just find warriors really boring to play most of the time. I used to play them a lot, but after a while it just got stale. And in DAO you got so many Warriors on your team that if you played as one you were more-or-less reduced to a standard party of Leliana/Zevran,  Wynne/Morrigan and another, particularly on higher difficulties. And Zev's lateness coupled with his lack of lockpicking talents made it awkward to use him at times for utility-purposes. Running a Rogue or Mage in Origins meant you could mix-up your party a bit more. The Warrior's lack of utility and interesting tactical abilities (stealth, for example), made them a less rewarding player experience (IMO).

Granted, they seem to have spiced up Warrior (and Rogue) a fair amount, which might make the former less boring (and the latter more awesome). Also, from what we can tell, the amount of party-members of each class is more balanced this time, albeit with a slight abundance of awesome rogues (with the DLC character). The 4 Rogue party is no longer a dream. ;)

My main class when I finally create a custom Hawke will most certainly be a rogue, but not because I saw a video of a man doing monkey flips.

Heh, check siggy. Rogues, assassins, thieves, etc etc are almost always my favourite protagonists/class of choice.

Only Mass Effect's Adept has been an exception to this so far. And it only beat Infiltrator by this much.

Rogue most likely.

So, any one else wondering if that dead space 2 heavy armor is going to cause stamina penalty?

While naturally I play caster type characters, I would really like to have Bethany in my party and for my first playthrough, so I will be playing a melee rogue. There are way too many rogue companions in this game!

Something tells me that the rouge class will steal the game. Kind of how I view the Mage is the best class in DA:O.

I really like Rogues, but I'm liking the new Sword n' board style. So for the moment I'm undecided.

I'll play a rogue in my second play, my first is mage for two reasons: AoE, and Carver. <3

I'm interested in how their attack chains play out.  Isabela will probably be my guinea pig before I create my own Rogue, though.  I'll know for certain once I play the demo.

Granted mage looks mighty promising too, but not enough for a first PT as I loathed mages in Origins. But this time around we wont just be shooting roman candles at enemies from afar.

I always play mage first so that's not going to change. Merrill and me blowing s*** up. Then i'll most likely play rogue on the second playthrough because it does look like a pretty fun class, not even gonna lie.
